New to this site. Need help!

Hello I'm new to the site and I recently bought my used 2006 Acura tl a month ago. I'm 19 and bought the car myself after the 1995 Honda civic my parents gave me was stolen. I miss my Honda just because it was my first car but I love my tl because its the first car I bought myself. I'm new to this and was wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions about interior and exterior modifications I should do. I don't plan on doing anything to the engine until later on. Thanks a lot!

Welcome to the Money Pit.

Define mods. Do you plan on doing performance or appearance mods?

The first one I would do would be tint. Followed by a nice drop with the above mentioned Progress RSB. Then j-pipe or wheels depending on if you want performance or appearance.

As for the interior, I actually like the car the way it is. The only thing I would like is LED's but its not worth it for me.

Aside from the mods you may want to read up on some of the maintenance things that you should do.

I'd start with tints or an LED conversion as a first mod or one of the first few

Welcome Showtime. Since you're looking for aesthetic mods, check out My Garage (click on the name of my car at the top of my signature) and the list of my mods. Originally, all I did was aesthetic mods. There are so many there, I'm sure you'll be able to pick out a bunch you like!

Thanks for all the input everyone. Sorry I didn't get back to you all right away, I've been busy with college apps. I'm thinking of changing my interior lights to LEDs and tinting first.

My first mod was the iSimple ipod integration kit. If you like listening to music and have a ton stored on your ipod this is a must have. It displays artist and track title right on your navigation screen and even integrates with steering wheel controls.

LEDs and tinting are good first mods as well.

Is it easy to do? And where'd you buy the kit from? I do listen to a lot of music and that would be great.

Lakeshow...welcome, I'm also a nooby...just read the threads dude and you'll have more info than you'll absorb in a lifetime...tint it first. Somewhere in one of the threads guys have had issues after LEDs in the interior...not sure if they just screwed up or it is an issue. Love your TL, I do mine!

Congrats!!! There is a TON of info available here, you'll enjoy it.

It's very rewarding to buy your first car. Since YOU just bought a six year old car, the first thing I'd recommend you spend money on is maintenance. Change every fluid with the thought that they haven't been touched before. It may not be as sexy as tint, LEDs or a new sound system, but it will help you make sure the money you've spent lasts. A sweet looking ride is pretty worthless if you need to ride the bus. Once the maintenance is done, you'll have peace-of-mind knowing that you've done all that you can to ensure future mods stick around longer (if you want them to). /oldguyrant

After being busy with work and college apps for the past couple months, I want to give an update on what I've done so far to the car. First of all I decided to name her Vanessa LOL. I did her A1 Service and recently got her tinted. Here's a pic.

Auto. It was more practical because I live in the city. Yours?
