At this point, the wheel obviously needs a revamp or needs to be different all together. So back to the drawing board I guess.

put a big ass BEAK on them to match the grille

no, seriously i'm not a fan of them for the 4G only. i just don't think the lines work well with the body. but that's not YOUR fault, that's Acura's for giving you something crazy to build off of.

since your wheels are strictly for Acura, i'd like to see a concept design with spokes resembling the "A" logo? just a thought...

I agree with this guy ^^^^^. While they are unique they are most certainly not timeless.

The design is great and extremely clean, but it doesn't have the unique look that your other wheels have. So while it looks good, I could mistake it for a set of Enkeis or some factory wheels.

Give it a lip and give it an aggressive convex from the lip to part right before the lug area, then leave the dip to the lug nut area the same.

I am glad you decided to change up the design of the wheels. I was certain if you went with the others they would end up being the hammer pants of wheels. (a fad that will come and then go). But for some odd reason i think they would of looked decent on a vette.

I think this new wheel design has a lot of potential. I really like it. If you sold them with a KBP-colored lip on it, I'd be all over it.

Sorry, no way am I doing a lip, the DT3 and Legend Type II with a deep ass lip don't even sell as well as expected. Besides, this wheel will ahve no problem clearance the BBK Acura is known to put on the 3G TL, RL and most likely 4G TL.

Don't fret tho, the 20" version will have such a concave drop center that it will look just as impressive as a deep dish.

Here's what I did to further narrow down the field, and believe me, if this wheel dosn't make you say "I need this wheel", the 3D and real thing will do the trick:

I can't make up my mind

The first design was too polygonal, even though I can see you tried to fit it to the new body style.

The second design is a lot cleaner, but from far away it doesn't look too original.

Design B looks like it'll go well with the 4th gen TL, even though I can't fully see the perception of it.

Design D is nice but it looks outdated, and the holes in the spokes reminds me of those on the 99-01 TL-P 16" wheel design.

I personally don't like the deep dish look for most wheels.

I think you should go with design B, and emphasize some of it's features like the grooves in the spokes and the hole in each spoke. I don't know about the design further into the wheel where the spokes curve into the rim like they do on the Inspyres.

^All imo.

My favorite Ronjon's are the Legend I's.

I love the design marked "B." The "D" one looks great, but the spokes look thin near the lip.

And to clarify, I didn't mean a deep dish lip in my previous post - I had meant a lip similar to the Legend Raven wheels, but silver/gunmetal and a KBP-color instead of the red.

Im feelin it! Nice work!

Since there is no lip, does that mean with a lower offset and more width, the spokes would dive into the center? IMO that looks sick.

I like this wheel , can I get it in 18". After looking at some of your other wheel designs i know the finished product will look even better than the concept .

Ron I feel like this wheel is going to look very OEM'ish is that what you are going for? Your other wheels defenitely stood out from factory. Like I can see this wheel being offered next to the ASPEC wheels in the Acura dealerships as an option add on and if they switched it with Acura logos I would really think they designed it.

However I do like the design, very clean and crisp however I dont feel like it has the BOLD RJ character that your other wheels have in your line up. Maybe your going for that OEM'ish look I dont know. Either way I think it will still be a good seller.

^ i agree, this looks more OEM than a RJ wheel. IMO it is not as sporty looking as the other wheels you offer, but of course I would have to see it on a car to get a better idea.

You could try putting little triangular spikes on the rim in between each spoke where the hole is already triangular, that'll prolly make it look more aftermarket.

I like em. I would like to see it with only 5 spokes on it. A more open look to show off the calipers even more.

If they were 5 spoke, they would end up looking very similar to the Inspyre. So I'm trying to give a different look. Also, the calipers will be able to be shown off, the spokes are pretty narrow.

Ron...Why not try a new series....TriSpoke Wheels....Instead of making straight spokes though make them kind of wave to flow with the car.

For Instance:

TriSpoke:

Except make them with a curve too them..something like:

This except 3 Spoke:

A Pimpin 3 Spoke:

That'd be pimpin

The 90's were almost 2 decades ago that justifies enough time to be said "Bring them back"

Because all Ron's designs so far (no offense) look OEM...they look like the typical 2000's look something from the 90s would be refreshing to see.

haha, that is so true. all i can picture is a Beretta or Cavalier with low profile tires and way too small of rims sporting the 3-spoke. I always chuckle when i see them.

but Ron, i like the rims OEM-ish in design, but the quality always looks so much better. I dont think anyone will mistake these for actual stocks...

As much as I like to "push the envelope", there is a reason why you don't see too many trispoke wheels. They are notorious for not being big sellers. And its kinda hard to gamble in a company like RJSD because we have to make a hit every time, unlike other companies with 10+ designs, sometimes one big hit can carry the poor sellers. But we only have 3-4 designs, so they all have to be good sellers. And when you are investing tens of thousands of dollars in molds per style and diameter, they better be paying for themselves. Its just too risky.

As for the OEM look, just wait until the wheel gets mocked up in a prototype, then you'll see how aftermarket and classy it will be. Trust me, it alwasy looks liek this. Take a look at the Inspyre and Legend from way back when they were just sketches and 3D.
