New Mirrors....But The Paint Doesnt Match!
I recently ordered 07-08 Mirrors for my 05 TL. I was planning on installing them (or trying to) this weekend. However, there is a CLEAR difference in the color of the mirrors and the color of my car. They are OEM but the white doesnt match. I have a WDP and I have noticed the bumper is slightly off in the shade. I know other people have had this problem too. What should I do? I'm really leaning towards just taking it to a body shop and getting both repainted so it matches? Anyone know a good body shop near Indianapolis?!
All color TLs exhibit this color difference. The darker the color, the less noticeable. NBPs you can't really see the difference at all. The reason for the color difference is because the body is painted at a different location than the bumpers, mirrors, etc and then installed afterward.
Just put them on, as suggested above. If you're still not happy then sell them to me minus the depreciation and I'll deal with the color difference. I wouldn't mind helping out a fellow AZiner

Yeah WDP and SSM are the 2 worst colors as far as if you anal on color matching on plastic parts vs. metal parts. That shit bugged me when I had my previous WDP, how my lip kit was different colors from my stock bumpers which was a different color from the rest of the car. And all of it was factory painted too..LoL. I even called TIM thinking he sent me the lip kit in Tafetta White instead of WDP.
Even bodyshops will agree that WDP and SSM is the hardest color for them to get to match. WDP is a little harder due to it being a 3 stage paint. Every car is different combinations of paint and pearl, so its near impossible to get it to match.
But I dont want to sound like the paint match is horrible, its just anal fucks like us notice it while 90% of the other joes don't even see a tiny difference.
BTW where did you get them and how much you pay for those suckers?
