I just wanted to introduce myself to the TL Community. I currently drive an 07 Civic Si (big surprise I know), and have just started negotiations for an 08 TL-S. I know I live in a high dollar area (Williamsburg, VA) because the dealers don't want to budge on the price much at all. I am still working on it though.........

I have always been a huge fan of the car, and I am excited to learn as much info as I can from the forum. Hopefully soon I can post pics on the new car, but for now any help or info I can get would be great.

Thanks,

-Jeremy

You should check the 3G sign-in thread to see what people are getting their TL's for in the current market. I dont believe that acura has any purchasing offers right now, but they do have a special lease offer if that is what you are going for.

Good Luck!

lol well....my Si is a NBP so I am a fan of black. That being said I think I am leaning towards blue (KBP?), but white does look good as well.

Welcome!

How about driving to a different area? Hell, when the 3Gen first came out, I drove 150 miles for a deal that my local dealers couldn't even come close to touching.

Welcome.

I admired the 3G for a long time too.

Beware though. You're going to get the same disease most of us have here. The neverending list of mods that will empty your piggybank in a hurry!

Just may have to do so.....38k OTD doesn't seem that great of a deal imo.

In all seriousness, and there are countless advice threads out there, I've leased/bought everyone of my cars the same way.

I find the EXACT car that I want, in your case a 2008 Acura TL-S, and I then send internet quote requests to each dealer within a certain mileage radius - for me, it's 150 miles as that's how far I'll drive to get a better deal.

I tell them exactly the particulars of the lease (i.e. 36 mos, 15K miles per year, EXCELLENT credit, $0 down except 1st payment, etc...) and then I ask for: MSRP, Cap Cost, Residual, Money Factor and Est. Pmt including sales tax.

Then it's just a matter of working all of the players until you get the lowest deal.

Then, I only go to the dealership AFTER I've confirmed in writing the entire deal and everyone has agreed to the deal. They prep the car, write up the paperwork, I show up, I sign and I drive.

Good luck!

personally, i think the carbon bronze is one of the best colors for the type-s. that is if you plan on keeping everything stock. i saw one on the way to work this morning and it made me drool a little.

but either way. welcome and good luck with the purchase.

Nice...I bet that cuts down on the BS time at the dealer for "negotiations".

Yeah, NEVER just walk into a dealer and try to work the deal. I've always had all that BS finished and the deal on paper before I walked into a dealer. Now I'm only in there for about an hour, start to finish, and that includes the time they do their "walk you thru the car" presentation.

Good luck!

good luck with the purchase. Just wanted to give some advice on the color. DO not I REPEAT do not get NBP unless you dont have a problem with your TLS being dirty all the time and seeing swirl marks. The Top 3 IMO is KBP( if you wana look flashy this color shines no other), WDP ( this is the classiest and best overall color......if i didnt get KBP i wouldve gotten this) and anthracite ( this color fixed up correctly looks sick).
