New guy. Headlight mod opinion question

Hey I'm new to the forums. Just picked up an '06 Base TL MT about two months ago. Finally decided to make a couple minor changes. One of them being removing the amber reflector from the headlights. I've done this before with other cars so I wasn't scared by the oven thing, but now that I have them apart I can't decide whether to leave them clear/chrome, or paint them black. Car color is anthracite grey. Wanted to hear some opinions. Also open to other ideas while I have them apart. Thanks

Black doesn't look to bad, maybe even black out the housing.

Take a look at this thread for some examples. https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...rt-iii-796033/

From a safety standpoint, I'd leave them reflective so that they at least serve part of their purpose. I would add USR clear diffusers for their clear reflectors.

Yeah the base headlights have waaaayyyy too much amber in them, however im not a fan of the completely chrome look either. If there is anyway to do them like the Type S headlights IMO would be perfect. I always felt Acura did a perfect job with the Type S headlights. if you can replicate that I think would be the best all around look.

If you black the chrome out than your turn signals are going to look like shit during the day.

The chrome helps reflect the light. Looks stupid when it's completely blacked out

Leave the chrome reflector for the turn signal but paint everything else black.

I have an anthracite grey TL also and I just put my ambers back IN, lol. I think the amber with grey looks so sharp. The guy I bought the car from removed the ambers and painted the bezels black, and in my opinion, it looked very bland. There just wasn't any contrast in the headlight between the chrome/black/anthracite.

This was my before:

This is my after:

I know the amber isn't for everyone, but I love it

That style looks way better with silver than it does with anthracite grey

Thanks for the help everyone. I've decided to just take out the amber and leave them chrome for the time being. I'll get some pictures up when I'm finished and have enough posts to allow me to put up pictures.

It's really not difficult. Just a little time consuming. When you have a free day (or if you have another daily driver like I do) go for it. There's a lot of info about it on here. I've done it to two other cars and never had any issues. And I think it really helps with the looks.
