New to the game
New to the game
Hello all,

Got the car quite a few months ago with 80028 miles. Here she is in all her glory. Bought it from a lady who neglected the car from what I can tell.

And the previous whip, 2003 Ford Focus SVT may she rest in peace

The car was awesome for auto-x. Due to my negligence on my suspension, it failed while i was driving and ended up hitting a pole going sideways which resulted in a broken arm. The suspension was making a loud clunking noise. I knew what was wrong but i kept putting it off. Thank God it was just an arm and not my life or anyone's life for that matter.
Learning from my previous accident, this Acura will get a lot more attention and care with wise decisions. I have read a lot on the forums of what this car needs and its already in motion. Very helpful peeps here from what I have seen. I have already changed the pressure switches and converted to redline oil (5w-30) and tranny fluid(d4). Also got a new battery due to old battery having lower than recommended CCA
The Good (when i got it):
1. Its a Type S KBP
2. Its bigger than my previous car with electronic goodies
3. I plan on keeping it till the wheels fall off.
4. Will get a lot of TLC
5. More room for passengers
6. Paint in relatively good condition (aside from scratches)
7. came with tint
8. came with all manuals and keys
The Bad:
1. Needed alot of TLC from previous owner
2. Rear spoiler is oxidized
3. 3 of 4 wheels are heavily curbed and bent
4. dents and light scratches everywhere
5. side skirt clear coat is pealing
6. rear a/c vents broken
7. interior carpet has stains (cleaned up)
8. leather looked "thirsty," small tear in drivers seat (cleaned with hot water and dressed with lexol)
9. no floor mats, driving with a piece of cardboard so as to not damage or stain the carpet (ordered weather tech)
10. oxidized headlamps (fixed)
11. broken security plastic thingy by the drivers side door
12. hanging rear view mirror (temp. fix)
13. new front tires but rear tires were showing cotton and steel belt
(changed to evo 12's on all 4s)
14. car barely started due to battery (fixed)
15. car misaligned (fixed)
16. its an automatic
Future plans/mods:
1. j-pipe
2. wheels (18's due to crappy roads and comfort)
3. coil-overs (definitely Tein with wireless EDFC)
4. the entire lip kit (when tax money comes
)
5. custom exhaust or RV6 batch 4
(maybe)
6. front bumper repaint (maybe)
7. full paint restoration (just need to get the buffer)
Well, that's it for now. Nice meeting you guys.

Welcome Hazul-wow, another new KBP Type S! That's a long list of problems. What was your final price, if you don't mind me asking?

welcome to the site, you can register your color here https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/tl-owners-please-chime-855960/ thnx.
I hate when people neglect to care for the car. but look like you get a good deal so enjoy it, BTW that rear spoiler you can repaint, if you decide to replace it then price tag would be $550.

was planning on getting the a-spec kit with my tax return but now those plans are halted for the time being. Also need a fog light.
thats my wallet talking
its alright, stuff happens
Insurance? nahh Im going to pay out of pocket. Premiums will go up.
its all good, stuff happens. Need to get Easy Tag and quit using feeder roads.
You should try getting the bumper from acuraoemparts.com as it will be quite a bit cheaper.
you can also try asking your local dealer to price match and save on shipping costs.
The foglight you cna probably get from eBay for 150$ for the pair or half that for 1 of them...The dealer charges about 200/each.
Goodluck

sigh.....i guess my car is cursed?
happened 3/23/13 was driving on the feeder road on the east side of the beltway when some ass in a 2013 dodge truck side swiped me. It was a three lane one way, I was in the middle lane when I saw him coming out from an intersection on the right side. He made his turn on the right lane and I guess he wasn't paying attention or something then decided to turn in my lane and

Of course I wanted to
the guy for being freaking careless. I took the car to Service King
first. Of course, they gave me the lowest quote possible. I then took it to Royal Collision through some friends recommendations and this site.
The good news is his new truck got damaged and my car got repaired by I suppose the best body shop in Houston. Will take pics of the awesome finish to the entire right side of the car. Matched the paint to perfection.
On a side note, I was looking for parts as I was waiting for the car to come back from the shop. I saw the EDFC active from TIEN on Heeltoe. Wondering if anyone has them? Are they wireless? Planing on getting the TIEN SA's before the year ends and maybe the EDFC wireless later on.
