New Addition!!
New Addition!!
Well I've wanted one of these since I was 13, so I finally went and got one. I've had it for almost a month now, and it's still a dream come true every time I drive it. Of course I still love my TL for whipping the wife and kid around.

beautiful car. I'm still trying to convince my dad to get a used 966 instead of the 335i coupe.
btw, tonywp75, you know why they have the ignition on the left side right? It's so they can start the car w/ one hand and basically take off right away. I was told by some Porsche enthusiast, that when racing, it was the fastest way. You don't waste a split second moving the hand from the ignition to the shifter. Now...i have no idea why you'd start a race w/ the engine off.....

bforbrian - Yup, that wing really works. And it's adjustable too. In fact just about everything in that car is...
Laxplaya - You're right. The reason it's on the left goes way back to the old Porsche racing days when the drivers had to run up to the cars, get in and take off. Putting the key on the left allowed them to start the car with one hand, shift into gear w/the other and go. At least that's what another Porsche enthusiast told me also.
Tonywp75 - It actually didn't take much getting used to suprisingly.
ecliptics - Near the Great Mall in Milpitas.
Thanks for the compliments everyone!
KSuchdeve - Here are some more pics:

That's awesome. I love hearing those childhood dreams coming true.
I got my Harley a few years back, and that was 1 dream fufilled...
I'm not far behind on this one. 2nd kid = bigger house (with bigger garage for toys).
You did it right too. Instead of pouring thousands more dollars into your TL to make it slightly faster, you saved that money for a real go fast car.
to you for doin' it right.

Wow!
ajeetm, that's a gorgeous car! I was behind a white Porche at the traffic light and kept admiring the car a couple of days ago. Hope you have a blast in both of your cars. Must be a hard decision deciding which one to drive!

Hey I just turned 21 on 3/2 which is beginning of the post..........soo can I have it for my birthday....
Really nice addition, I love the Porsche. Keep us updated when your not too busy driving. Let us know how realiable the thing is. Having hard enough time with the 3rd gen as is right now but loving it. NSX or S2000 in the near future for me though
. Again congrats but I will need you to send me some napkins the wipe the drool.

Wow man that car is really, really nice! I'm happy for you! Have you tried to open it up yet? Be safe, but fire that thing up and let it rip! Out run a plane or something!
Enjoy your toy!

Since my city doesn't have a Porsche dealership (which is 100 miles away), I had to settle for one of these....my baby.

2004 BMW M3 (E46, which is the 3rd generation M3)
8,000 miles (original owner since 6/30/04 when delivered)
SMG 6-speed transmission (Sequential Manual Gearbox)
333 hp
Every option...including power rear sunshade.
0-60 in 4.7 seconds

I tried punching it around a sharp corner while talking to my friend (i.e. not paying full attention). So you know, I'm used to the TL - a front engine/front drive car with tons of front end plow (and VSA). But since the engine's in back and so are the drive wheels (and no VSA), the rear kicked right out. Next thing you know I'm oversteering/compensating. So of course my front-engine-front-drive-based reflexes say "give it more gas, she'll pull forward and out.." WRONG!!! The back just swung out further and next thing you know I completed a 180 and facing oncoming traffic. Luckily I didn't hit anything.
So I'm definetely hitting the next local Autocross event to learn the limits of this machine before taking any more liberties.
As for the top end, I've hit 100+ without even realizing it. I have no desires to push this thing further anyplace but the track.
