New Accord

Ok guys...Im sure I'll get flamed but here goes anyway. Wife and I were taking the van up to get new tires on it the other night. We were dropping it off the night before. I was leading and she was behind me in the van. I saw headlights coming up fast behind us and pulled over into the slow lane. New V6 Accord. It was a split 4 lane limited access highway and he got caught up ahead of me by a red light. My car is debadged and I had my SSR's on so unless he saw my headreasts (doubtful) he probably thought I was a TL-p. I pulled up slowly beside him and stopped at the light. I looked over and it was a kid (18-21 range). I slipped the gate down to 1 (just in case). Light turned green and he took off squeeling the tires so I just punched it a half second after him. When I gate shifted to 2nd...pulled ahead and just kept pulling away. I took it to about 95 and had a good 8 car lengths on him. He pulled in behind and just followed for a while before turning off. I pulled into the car place and waited for wifey to get there. She just pulled up next to me...rolled down the window, smirked and said...that will be enough of THAT kind of driving! Anyway, I wanted to see how I would do against the V6 Accord and it was no contest whatsoever. Im not close to stock...header, icebox, Iridiums, pulleys, lightweight SSR comps...plus, my car seems to run very very good! Just thought I would share. It was about 9:30 at night and no one was around when this occurred...other than the wife...disappearing in the rear view mirror! ....ant the Accord kind of doing the same..

I was actually surprised by how easy it was. I had a full tank of gas, golf clubs and 3 bowling balls in the trunk and still wasted him by that much. I can imagine well over 10 car lengths withough all the sports crap and a quarter tank of gas!

I didn't even gate shift or use s/s, just good old fashion pedal to the floor and balls to the walls.

Yeah, you can easily tell if it's the 6MT coupe by looking at the rims and the V6 badge will be red instead of black.
