Never buying an Acura again
its not even a year since i owned the car...
- went to the dealership close to ten times alone to fix rear deck rattle and then a few more trips.
- replaced the front speaker because it was blown and sub woofer was blown.
- right and left side view mirrors didn't move around properly. fixed that. went in a second time because the left side motor went out again.
- paint was peeling around windows replaced the trim.
- brake wear indicator was hitting brake rotors. installed new pads and resurfaced rotors.
- replaced rear struts because of that clunking noise.
- replaced power steering hose and that washer to stop it from squealing.
- front brakes STILL squeak like a bitch i mean honestly this whole time i thought people were just checking out the ride, but its the noise that makes them look. you can hear it a block away.
- and just today.. my first long trip (40 miles) after installation of new rear struts. i feel like something in the left rear is broken. when i go over bumps i hear this clunking noise coming from the rear drivers side only.....cant tell but anyways I'm hoping to get it checked tomorrow. might even sell the car also this whole time i brought my car in for repairSSSSS not once did i get a loaner..seriously and i did switch too a different dealership looks like its the car thats the problem
- one more almost forgot..airbag light came on. dealer fixed it.
... and forget about the efin acura client relations honestly the regional manager from acura is hiding from me or something..he never bothered to call back even though i left him voice mails and clearly stated my name and number...

Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Sounds like you got a bad car out of the batch. ACS is a joke the majority of the time. I've dealt with them before.
I hope everything gets taken care of soon.

Sorry to say, every manufacturer comes up with "lemons" every now and then and probably a great deal has to do with the dealerships lack of knowledge, or ineptness when it comes to satisfying the customer and fixing the problem.
Guess you could unload the car and take a loss, but if warranty items I'd let them try and do the fixes and hope they do it right.

almost forgot..silly me..i also owned a 2000 Acura Tl before i bought this car....transmission failures. lost count. also had that hot soak issue which was never fixed and my last transmission was also acting up.
LOL one of the reasons your never going to buy an Acura again is because the brakes wore down and because you or the previous owner blew the speakers?? mmmm k Good luck ever finding a car where the brakes dont wear.
"LOL" brakes were replaced at 25k last year car now has 33k miles and the speakers were blown after i got it back from the dealership, when i had taken it in for the rear deck rattle. honestly i don't drive that much to begin with and i shouldn't be expecting problems with this kind of miles that i have on the car and i do take good care of my car.

A lot of those issues are fairly common. Any one or two of them is no big deal since there are fixes for most of 'em.
But all of them in the same car? Yeah, that'd suck.

I'd take a deep breath. take the care to the dealer and tell them any and everything that's bothering you. This will prevent you from going back when each issue occurs. Very time consuming. Good luck bro.
Damn, quite a number of problems...but they all seem quite minor?
I was expecting to hear about serious ongoing, unfix-able mechanical issues. I can't lie, I would be pretty annoyed as well to have so many minor problems with a car with such low mileage. What did the Carfax say prior to purchasing? This wasn't a salvage title or anything, right?
I think a majority of the issues you mentioned are to be expected when purchasing a pre-owned car and are more of maintenance type items. Good luck; I hope things change for you!

sorry to hear about your problems. its a damn shame that the dealership is ignoring you now. Its under warrenty they have a responsibility to serve you. I'd go straight to Acura corporate on that ass. I'd feel the same way if I was you.
That means it likely originally came from Acura of Ramsey, the most incompetent inept dealer service department I've ever dealt with. And now, if you're dealing with Paragon Acura or Acura of Brooklyn, you've jumped out of the frying pan into the fire! The only half decent dealer in NYC is Acura of Manhattan. As for ACS, they're just a blemish on the face of Honda Motor Company.
It seems like the previous owner probably beat it to shit. Didn't you have the car checked out by a competent mechanic BEFORE you bought it?

I dunno, but your problems seem either you abused it or the previous owner did. Brake squealing? That is probably the easiest to fix. If you replaced the Brake Pads, then you obviously either bought a very cheap pad or you installed it incorrectly (or didn't apply Brake grease). If dealer installed them, you're lucky. Something they don't need to change for you.
Just like above posters said, You're not allowed a loaner by NY law. So before going out on a dealer and/or a brand, know what you're talking about.
The dealer, bad or not, attempted to fix each item and only seems they failed on the rattle. Paint peeling? That is covered under warranty and I seriously doubt you or the previous owner took care of the car's paint.
IMO, instead of ranting (which you have the right to do), you should spend more time on Acurazine searching for simple solution to your problems (simple DIYs and ways to confront dealer and which dealer is good). Whether you think you should do this is entirely up to you, but every car has its flaws (and some many than others). The only brand that would take care of you no matter what is Lexus and the IS series looks like a girly car and the ES/GS looks like a complete family car-- only the ISF.

did not notice this at first
, but yeah age is kinda an issue, especially depending on the state (and even then when most rental car companies due rent out to younger drivers, they have to pay a higher rate, due to "higher" liability)so it may not be the state itself, but actually the dealer's insurance company, not allowing it (which i think may actually more of the case here)
This sounds like a combination of the previous owner's abuse and dealer incompetence. Neither makes your trouble any better but I would not blame any of this on the car itself. Believe me, I've been through hell and back with dealers and body shops but if you overlook the problems caused by shop error, the car has been amazingly reliable over 100,000 miles.

Wow, sounds like a weird series of errors on that Type S. Do realize though this is not the norm though.

its not even a year since i owned the car...
- went to the dealership close to ten times alone to fix rear deck rattle and then a few more trips. The TSB (from Acura) fix for this is a temporary cover up, search the forums here to have the perm. Fix which works. -
replaced the front speaker because it was blown and sub woofer was blown. Speakers blowing is a common issuse, more so if you own a 2009+ TL with Tech package, the amp overpowers the system blowing all the speakers. You might have all your settings on high which will blow the speakers quickly. The sound system in the TL isn't made to handle MAX power at all times.
- right and left side view mirrors didn't move around properly. fixed that. went in a second time because the left side motor went out again. Mirror Actuators is also common and will tell you it will fail again eventually. The greese inside the actuators becomes dirty and sticky which freezes the motor. To help extend the life you can manually move the glass up/down/side/side to free up the greese.-
paint was peeling around windows replaced the trim. Chances are is was either due to repainting of the vehicle or some form of clear coat eatter was used to clean something off. For example those De-icers in a spray can will eat the clear coat off your vehicle. Either way Sorry it happend to you. -
brake wear indicator was hitting brake rotors. installed new pads and resurfaced rotors. With brembos you will go through brakes roughly 15-25k depending how you drive and where you live. -
replaced rear struts because of that clunking noise. Not an unheard of issuse, usually they Clunk due to a huge pothole hit or something stressing them to where the strut gets tweaked to make a noise. -
replaced power steering hose and that washer to stop it from squealing. P/S hose is a recall, same for the 0-ring on the inlet joint for the pump. This is for all TL's made from 2004-2008.-
front brakes STILL squeak like a bitch i mean honestly this whole time i thought people were just checking out the ride, but its the noise that makes them look. you can hear it a block away. Brembo OEM pads do make noise, usually if the rotors aren't cut right they make noise more often. Your best bet is go get Rotora rotors and better quality pads. Talk to Excelerate (SP) about the best setup for performance and noise. -

As I said it's not uncommon for struts to get bent, however there is no camber adjustments on this vehicle IF you are not lowered and the rear camber is way off then there is something bent, which is most likely your case. Something bent off in spec will stress the strut and make it clunk no matter how many new ones you get installed. Also make sure the vehicle wasn't hit from the rear in which that would have tweaked something.
might even sell the car also this whole time i brought my car in for repairSSSSS not once did i get a loaner..You are not of age to recieve a loaner.
seriously and i did switch too a different dealership looks like its the car thats the problem
- one more almost forgot..airbag light came on. dealer fixed it.
Most likely the sensor in the passenger seat which there is also a TSB on. ...
and forget about the efin acura client relations honestly the regional manager from acura is hiding from me or something..he never bothered to call back even though i left him voice mails and clearly stated my name and number...The regional manager talks to your service writer, he is the one that calls you back to gives you the information. Since the vehicle has warranty there isn't much a R/M can do. If your vehicle JUST got out of warranty (a few miles) then he can come in and figure something out only if the repairs are major as in you need a engine not for rattle noises or clunks.
