Need Your Input on these Install prices
Hey guys,
I'm too lazy and not apt enough to take things apart and then put them back together- basically I'm mechanically impaired. I have an 05 TL and I'm thinking about doing the following mods and have received install quotes from the local Acura dealer on the following:
(1) A-Spec underbody spoiler kit ($799 from Tim) installed for $285.00
(2) TL-S lamp install for $95 but advisor said he could cut that in half if I do everything together.
(3) Cut and program a 07 s/b key for $50
What do you guys think?

I'd have them do it. My dealer Pohanka wanted $700 to install bodykit, I paid $150 to a local guy, he did a great job. $50 is what I paid to have my key cut, when it was set up with 10-15 others at the same time. $50 for the tail swap ok.
Drop it off to them, pick it up later finished. Plus a warranty for the install.

Prices seem somewhat decent, but definitely do the A-Spec install with the Type-S tail swap. You need to remove the rear bumper to install them so you might as well kill two birds.
The advantage of the Acura dealer is that they will warrant their work. Make sure you read up on the install DIY for the body kit (make note of the extra double sided tape): DIY: A-Spec Bodykit Installation 3G Garage #E-001

That was what they quoted for a 6 hour job, per the book. Same as doing the Aspec suspension. Pohanka Acura.

THANKYOU SIR
What I don't understand is, they should have a set price to install! Not charging per hour x how many hours. Maybe the people putting it on are a bunch of young slackers, or somebody with the runs, maybe somebody with the flu. You get what I mean. When you get an oil change, its a set price, not- oh the guy that changed your oil was sick and it took him a long time, the oil change will be $195.
Thanks for the reply, now I have something to take to Shelly Berg
That's a great price for the kit - Island Acura in Wantagh wanted $500+ to install the kit...the guy said "uhh it'll take 5 hours at $100 per hour, so that's $500, plus maybe a few things that may come up"
