Need quick help with brakes!!

I have a 2007 acura TL type S and it is in the shop right now. The part I need is just front calipers. For some reason none of the stores around me (pep boys, autozone, advanced auto parts, auto parts warehouse etc) does not carry this specific part. can somebody suggest an online link where i can buy some calipers? Im in the philadelphia region. If anybody knows a store that sells TL-S calipers, please suggest. Thank you

I was going to suggest buying a used set...I see them come up from time to time, but seeing as how your car is in the shop I'm guessing this will not work for you...As previously asked, why would your calipers need to be replaced??

I don't think rotors can leak. So must be his calipers

The calipers themselves are $330 each. Unfortunately Acura doesn't sell a piston seal kit. They only sell the piston boots. If you need piston seals, you may have to contact Brembo to get them.

That's odd that a caliper that new will leak unless you damaged it. Was the car in an accident? The calipers are expensive.

the car was never in an accident. i went in for a brake pad change and i guess the mechanic broke the bolt on the calipers and messed up the threading or someting.. and he said it was leaking.

If he damaged it then the shop should be replacing it for free. Something ain't right.

Yeh....I smell crap. If all it needed were pads when you went in and the mechanic broke it then they should pay to fix it. No reason you should be out $800 for their mistake.

Some somewhere for sure.

There is absolutely ZERO reason to remove any caliper bolts to change pads. Rotors, yes. Pads, no. None.

If he stripped threads on the caliper (whether he should've been in there or not) they can be fixed with a heliocoil or some sort of retap/repair.

If they broke it, make them buy a new caliper from Acura.

I'd also be leary of letting them do any more work on the car. If they can't figure out the quick change pad without destroying the caliper, I'd question their ability to do any thing at all.

The treading issue with the brembo caliper is fairly common. Search the treads. It happened to me when I was replacing my rotors. However, if u were only getting ur pads changed then u shouldn't have run into this issue
