They're custom made. Baked in the oven for 20 minutes at 200, pulled open, and customized to whatever you want.

yep, bake the headlight in the oven, remove the black housing from the front plastic and remove the amber color.. many of us leave it clear, some of us black it out like i did.

Yeah do a search. Many different ways to do it. All clear, all blacked out, partially blacked out. In my case, I partially blacked out:

I want to but I'm not sure if it's the ballast.. the outage was caused by water since I no longer had an eye after my car wash.. maybe the ballast wasn't waterproof?

I wanted to drive around campus flaunting my ostentatious headlights but i can't =T

Brian... I've told you this already. Those ballasts are waterproof. Washing your car does not make them fail. They're just cheap, and odds are, one failed. You can't post any more pics of your headlights any other threads until you fix yours.

Buy a set of replacement ballast from vibelights, swap em out, and call it a day.

Kennedy's headlights FTW:

Search for cleared headlights. The process is simple but takes a lot of time. You bake the oven at 200 degrees fahrenheit for 20 minutes, pull it out and pull the lense from the housing. You then paint the peices you'd like black. You need to use high temperature paint like for engines and bbqs. I used flat black bbq grill paint. You then let the painted pieces dry for a day or so before reaasembling. I ended up just baking at 200 degrees for 30 minutes to speed up the process. you then you silicone or adhesive in conjuntion with the current glue and put it back together. you'll need to heat up the lights again to soften the glue prior.

Yea all ballasts are waterproof to an extent.... some have water seals around edges and the other are silicon filled. both suck because both have some way of breaking in a stupid way. Ive come to find that the silicon ones break from vibration and the others from water we have the edge sealed ones.

I've opened both so I know.....

The Umnitza ones are kinda glued together. You can pry them open pretty easily. I could totally believe if water found it's way in. Brian's was siliconed up and I put duct tape around it too for good measure. It could have still blown because of water or some other reason.

The Vibelights one are much better in terms of weatherproofing. The metal outer casing houses the green circuitboard. They poured a type of rubbery plastic epoxy on top of that that solidifies totally isolating the interior from anything. So technically speaking there is no backing to it....It's actually poured in. Cool, I see these being much more weatherproof. I still wrapped mine in duct tape!

I got your back Brian. OK there's a little glitch in one angel-eye.....it happens.

Kennedy thinks he has the best headlights on the forum, he's gotten a lot of compliments. He's entitled to his opinion. But of course we know we gots the best ones. Because we're rockin the switchbacks too.

FTW

This is a serious crowd. Do I think my headlights win. Sure. 4 months of planning and slow deliberate execution, almost $500 in lenses, angel eyes, custom paint, Carbon Fiber, LEDS, and sealant... It'll give you a big head. I'm quite proud of how well these turned out.

Look, you guys did a great job too.
I was just having a little fun with Brian trying to poke him enough to have him get out there and troubleshoot his busted eye. I think it could be fixed in the amount of time he's taken to type the posts asking what went wrong. We've also communicated via PM over it.

I just want to see him back in action.

and Rock, 3 different shades of white (6000K HID, 5000K eyes, and 10000K switchback...) =FTL

No sir...
Yellow V-leds all around. 36 led chrome tips up front (pic in my headlight thread), and 27 led in the rear.

I have some switchbacks. Didn't like:

- the color. too purple. Looked really funny with 4300K HIDS, and 6500K angel eyes to me.
- dremeling the housing and "glueing" them in.
- white turn signal means you need white side markers. I did that those once with 5mm leds, and they blew up in 60 days- you need proper resistors or they burn out. I went back to yellow side markers and amped up the led to make them brighter.
- "Negative" attention. Northern Virginia's pretty bad about 5.0 pulling you over for silly shit like this.

NO NO YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN!!!!

8000k HIDs, 5000k eyes, 6,000k fogs, 6000k sidemarkers, 8000k lower fogs and 10,000k switchbacks...........

As I said, it didn't sound good in theory, but it looks crazy wicked in person, even with the mismatch. Anyone who has seen it will agree! ftwftwftwftwftwftw.

LOL@@

What serious crowd??? Talkin bout Brian? Nah you haven't even gotten him close to worked up yet........
