Need Help With NC Pricing

Hey everyone-
I have really learned a lot in this forum. I am purchasing an 06 TL with Nav. this week in central NC. I have gotten first quotes of about 33k over email. What is reasonable in this part of the country? It seems like we may be middle of the road on pricing around here. Thanks for your help!

It's reasonable, but seeing how 07's are starting to show up on the lots, I'd be looking for a little more off.

Thanks Chill_Dog-
I was hoping for something at or sub 32,000. I don't know what people are paying. Anyone else have any experience around this area? thanks.

I know its kindof far away, but here in miami, just Sat., I picked up auto 06 w/ nav for 30985. I based my negotiations on Cali/Texas prices which were 30,5-31,5. This before tax/tags of course. Initially internet quotes were best method to start off with. Then just play the dealers off each other. Being in Central NC you should try Charlotte/Greensboro/Raleigh/Fayetteville. Cary Autopark is good. Good luck

That's funny...I was thinking $32,000 would be good...about what I would be looking to pay.

Thanks everyone for your input. This is what I sent to 4 dealers and I will let you know how it goes.

Sub 32,000 including protection package and 2007 Nav. DVD update. Hope to do something by Friday.

tempermental black paint???

Update:
Have a few offers for 31,900 for 06 manual TL with Nav. and protection package. Everyone seems to be stuck at about this price. Is this the best I'm going to do in NC? Thanks for the input!

Also, one of the dealers wrote this:

"There is something that is important for you to know about the Nighthawk Black vehicles. When they come from Ohio, and arrive here, they are wrapped in the sealant and the paint has not yet cured 100%. I wanted you to know that as soon as we remove the sealant, detail and wax the vehicle, we immediately park the vehicle and place a TL car cover on it to allow the paint time to cure. The black paint is extremely tempermental in the intial week, but we are thorough and make sure it stays perfect."

Is this relavent?

that sound like a bit of BS to me since the hight temps in the factory painting process makes it cure and adhere really quickly.

That's BS. here are three problems with that. First, the paint is baked on at the factory. Typically it is cured by the time it rolls off of the line. Second, in order for his argument to be viable, the entire car would have to be wrapped, and we all know it is not, a large part of it is left uncovered. Third, if the paint wasn't "cured", the last thing you would want to do is cover it with a sticky plastic and then a car cover, that would just cause it to tack up. I won't even get into why you wouldn't detail a car that wasn't "cured" yet!! Good luck with the buy!

I agree, I passed on the black because of the paint issue and am getting the dark gray with black interior. 33,417 OTD including prot. package and VIP customer something or another that helps with maintenance (probably worthless). Thanks for your help, look forward to staying active in the forum.
