Need help deciding....

I'm stuck! Here's my situation.. I'm in need of a rim (OEM rim) and also need to buy 2 new tires for an 2005 TL. I can't find anyone selling just 1 rim other than ebay which they are asking for $150 plus shipping. Im estimating 2 new tires will run over $300 too so I started looking to possibly buying aftermarket 18" or 19" wheels and tires.. I went to a local rim shop and they were offering me these exact 18" wheels (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-AD...ayphotohosting) and tires for $900 installed. They are the ADR Battle... This may be naive of me but I was thinking that as long as I get all season tires on these rims, that I should be ok to use them for this upcoming winter. I live in NJ. I wanted to upgrade the rims within the next year anyway so I was thinking of taking advantage that the rims are less expensive at this time of the year.

I appreciate any feedback.. Thanks!

I'm sure people with more knowledge will chime in but I don't think you should do 7.5" wheels since the TL OEM is already 8" wide. If anything, you should go higher to 8.5" or stay with at least 8" wide wheels.

I was thinking about that.. The dude at the place was trying to convince me that I couldn't go any wider than 7.5 but my main concern is what I should do.. Spend the money on new rims and tires or still look for the OEM wheels? I forgot to mention that I keep finding ppl that are selling all 4 OEM wheels w/o tires for around $350. So that is another option I can do. Hopefully, my question is a little clearer. Thanks

You're gonna listen to what the dude at the place says over all those engineers at Acura? I agree with luckyAKAhappy. You should do minimum 8 - 8.5 wide.

Cheapest way out is to buy the single OEM wheel and get some nice tires for it.

Ok...at the minimum you're looking to spend $400 for one rim and 2 new tires. After this winter, you want to get new rims anyways.

I say just save your money and get new rims altogether. Just not the one that rim shop was trying to pawn on to you and I would also avoid that rim shop as well.

Check in the Black Market section of this forum, you may find a rim there. You can also post up a Wanted add yourself for the 1 rim.
