Need a Clear Bra installer in the NYC area
The paint on my TL's front bumper continues to peel, and my dealer has agreed to repaint the bumper once, so I'm going to have a Clear Bra installed. I've found one dealer in Queens that is charging $690 installed, but I'm hoping others can suggest someone who has had this done (NYC area) and is satisfied with the work. Thanks in advance for any help.
Is the peeling due to parking on the street and getting the bumpers tapped by other cars? I live in Manhattan and keep my car garaged. I drive my TL mostly outside of town. I haven't wanted to use it in the city and park on the street because my old Honda had lost so much paint on the bumper from getting banged by other cars. I was thinking about getting a clear bra on the bumpers because I thought they would be protected in parallel parking.
Thanks

Had a lot of problems with the clear bra kit from Rockblocker. My installer wound up custom cutting and fitting pieces from rolls of the 3M paint protection film.

I don't live in the city and rarely parallel park my car, so I bet my peeling started from rocks given all the highway miles I drive. However, what were once very small chips have grown into small spots the size of a nickel or so.....the paint clearly looks like it's peeling and without addressing it now, I bet my bumper would look awful in another few months.
I've read other posts on the paint peeling, so I'm guessing that all TL owners who experience any chips (whether from rocks, other cars, whatever) in their bumper run the risk of the chips growing in size.
