Need advice 07 TL 50k miles for $23K thoughts please?

Checking out this car and need some advise, tips, suggestions etc : http://ps.getauto.com/dealer/details...A66207A035153/

Considering taking a ride to the dealer but wondering if you pros think the mileage is too high? Price?

Seems reasonable. I've had my car serviced at Bridgewater a few times and they have a good reputation. Given the times, I'd try to bargain it down a bit bc the miles are almost doubled what they should be for a 2 yr old car.

^^ Thanks so what do you think a reasonable offer would be? Also are there any major maintenance due soon based on that mileage?

If the car was properly maintained 50,000 miles is not bad. I do not own a tl but I do have an 06 tsx, bought new. It has all it's service done at a acura dealer. I follow the maintenance minder (no longer goes by mileage) Nothing major needed to be done at 50,000 miles (normal oil/change and tires rotated/balanced) I now have 84,000+ problem free miles. Definately go test drive it and offer them $19,000 or even less. Remember you can always increase the offer. I am planning to get either a new 2010 TL 6MT or a 2010 TSX 6MT in either March/April 2010. Good Luck.

Tell them 20-21k out the door meaning you're buying it for 17-18kish. Its a buyers market and 3G is losing value due to the line of 4Gs that are out.

No maintenance needed besides the basics (tires, brakes, oil, etc...). The next major maintenance is at 105k which is water pump and timing belt and plugs, along with any other worn out objects.

Just for a reference for you. I bought my 07 nav TL for $24.6 with 27,000 miles on it. With closer to double the miles you might be able to do a bit better than what they are looking to get.

What Champ531 said above is not realistic thats like $6,000 less than what there asking. I can promise with that offer they will say have a nice day. I would start around $21 and go from there

never will know until you ask-they might say no way or then maybe they will shock you and say yes. Start low and go up.

I'm back. I offered 20k they said the best they would do is 22k so they dropped 1k but I walked. It's early in the month and the delaer was pretty empty so they have my number if they want to do better if not then the search continues... The car drives like new. New tires, brakes. There is a however a scratch on the bumper and one under the bumper. They are willing to paint them, but if they did 20k I could live with it..

So what does the 60k maintenance involve?

if you have negative equity in your altima and carrying that over in a new loan-NO- keep the altima.

I wouldn't buy it.

$22k on that car is high, they are only asking $22,500 to start with. $500 off, that is laughable. The economy sucks, cars aren't selling, and the mileage for the year is very high.

I'd tell them to screw off and keep looking.

The Altima is a lease which i have a year left on. The resale value of Altimas "STINK". So pretty much if I pay this lease out for the next 14 months I'd have spent more money mantenance etc... Then have to find a 2007 for a reasonable price and start over anyway.

It started at 23,200 then dropped to 22,500 recently. I countered with 22k and an extra 500 for my trade over the phone and they said ok. Flat out what do you think is a good price? I checked Kelly blue Book and they hav it over 24k with that mileage so? I am going tomorrow so I am sure I can haggle a little more but what do you guys think?

22K is a good price for that car, considering It was 35to 36K two years ago. I would ask if they will throw in an extended warranty for the 22K price. They would only be in it for 50K miles (warranty would end at 100,000 miles or 6 years from 2007). The warranty is worth its weight in gold. Those a-Spec rims are worth $1200.00, so they probably wont deal them off.
Be watchfull of the finance rate. Todays average rate is 7.91% for a 48 month loan on a used car. So, any rate from 6.9% to 9% is a good rate, of course, depending on your credit.
Also, If the Altima is running good, you are in a good position to walk away from the deal, make sure they know that you know that, be suttle.
On the TL, the maintenance department should be able to type in the VIN, and tell you all the work that has been done on the car, recall work, etc.
The first tune up (plugs, timiming belt, water pump, etc) is due at 105K miles.
Its expensive ($1200 to $1500 in todays money) but well worth it.

Good Luck

Please don't finance through them. Arrange your own financing and get yourself some more negotiating power by telling them you'll pay in cash. Check out www.penfed.org I just took a loan out from them. 60 months @ 3.99%
