NBP or WDP???
NBP or WDP???
In the market for a 2007-2008 type s and the dealership i'm planning on purchasing from has 2 NBP tl-s and just received 1 WDP tl-s and all have about the same mileage (36000-38000) and asking price from $27000-$31000. What are your thoughts on color, and a good price? all three are acura certified btw. Opinions and thoughts greatly appreciated!!
The majority of opinions here will be WDP.
The contrast of the paint to the headlights/grills looks just amazing on the front, and the same for the rear tails. Additionally, the paint is just beautiful especially when in direct sunlight.

Well, i'm actually torn between the two. NBP looks sick when its clean, but it's difficult to keep it that way. I originally wanted KBP but i gave up on that a long time ago. Color is hard to find. WDP is a gorgeous color but i'm on the fence for both colors.
I've had 5 black cars. For me there is no other color that looks as good when clean. However, keeping black paint looking good takes a lot more work. I've had one white car, they are much less work to keep the paint looking good but they just don't have the bling of black. If you are anal about detailing your car get black, if not get white.
It's all a matter of personal preferance. You will enjoy the ride whichever color you choose.

If you have a PC and the right polishes black isn't bad at all .. you also would need to learn how to wash and dry it properly, thats where the most of the swirling comes from... owner not knowing how to wash it or them sending it to car washes.
I still regret getting the WDP after owning a few black cars. I went with WDP because I didn't like the interior color options up here.

the price seems a little high. WDP is an awesome color, but I couldn't find one here in houston. I ended up with a alabaster silver/black & silver inserts for interior. I got my 08 type S with 35k mi for 25k (before tt&l). Hope that helps.

unfortunately in the cases of TLs, TSXs, accords, etc... used OR new, the damn lot boys screw up the paint and cause swirls right at dealer level. so most likely, you buy a brand new nighthawk black and BOOOM, swirl city is already there! VERY VERY hard to find a black car where the owner took super care of it when it comes to the class of sedans we own.
In all honesty, I'd go WDP. Albeit, NBP is my favorite color - it's too difficult to maintain, and it looks best when slightly modded, aesthetically. WDP looks great as is, from the factory. Unfortunately, a lot of the WDP TL-S' (TL-P's included) have mismatched body to bumper panels. The given excuse: different paint surface - metal vs plastic. I call bull...but
NBP by far... I have owned both WDP and NBP and the NBP looks ALOT better. If you don t have the patience nor skills to keep a black car from looking like crap i would go with WDP. But just know you are gonna have that awful mismatched paint job on such a nice looking car...... Or you could get it painted like i did when i received my 04 WDP

It was my choice to have the bumpers painted to match
That's a clean ride. Not really feeling the front lip kit. I have been debating on getting some of the A-Spec wheels. At first I didn't like the TL-S rims but after having them for a while I've grown to like them. The A-Spec wheels just give the car a little added bling.
thanks for you input guys. You're making this decision more difficult lol. Keep them coming. Going to the dealership tomorrow afternoon to look at all 3 cars and test drive them. Hopefully by the end of the day i'll have chosen one!
Yeah the price did seem a little steep. But i'll see what i can get it down to. All 3 of them are 07' with the same mileage. Probably more expensive because it's "certified"
I never thought I'd have another black car after my 91 Accord Ex but my rationale was that I park underground during the day and garage at night so the black isnt as much of a problem for me. If you are going to leave your car outside, then you shoudl probably get the white as the black will look dirty all the time. Sometimes I see WDP and get a little tinge of coulda shoulda but then I see that mismatched bumper or I see one during a rain (they get very yellow in coudy dirty conditions) and I think, nah I still like my black.
WDP. i see more second hand NBP in dealerships, which means the WDP owners are keeping their cars. black will always look black, but WDP fluctuates sooo much depending on the way the light hits the paint, so one day WDP could look hot and another day WDP could look Meh.
ALSO if u get WDP, its hard to get any paint jobs cuz white is the hardest color to match. so dont get into any car accidents :P

and I'm sure thats what they all say about why a paint job was done. The point that raises flags is that the previous owner had a paint job done to cover something up.
It came down to black or white for me. Black is my favorite on nearly every car. In fact every car I've owned has been black but the TL looks so good in white too. I ended up going with the black and I'm glad I did. However every once in a while I find myself "cheating" and staring at a white TL.
FWIW, I like black on the '04-'06 models with the red tail lights and white in the '07-'08 models.
Black really isn't that hard to keep up. You just can't take the shortcuts that you can with white. As long as you follow the "rules" you will be fine.
However, black seems to be more fragile. I've already have the entire front of my car repainted due to millions of rock chips from the freeway miles making it look gray even when clean. The bodyshop said they coat it nearly twice as thick as the thin factory paint and I believe it as it's already holding up much better than the factory paint. If you do mostly city driving this shouldn't be a problem.
