NBP Paint question
NBP Paint question
I'll skip the reason I have to ask this question because it will only push me closer to the edge. Anyway, I need to have an area of my NBP TL repainted and wanted to get some feedback as to how well the paint matches. I know there are a ton of variables when painting but let assume a respectable shop does the work. Please share your experiences....and for those that want to know - The dealer f@#^& up my hood while repairing something they attempted to fix 5 day earlier.

A good painter using a quality paint system will have no problem matching the NBP color. NBP can be panel painted, without blend panels if the color is dead nuts. NBP is also the most common Honda color so all the top manufacturers offer a few variances, one usually matches perfect. No worries.
I've had to have both my front and rear bumpers replaced due to accidents, and I also had to have a rear quarter-panel repainted when I backed into a pickup that was illegally parked (it was pouring down rain late at night, couldn't see that the jackass had parked sticking out off the end of his driveway into the street). The body shop I used did an excellent job matching the paint, no issues at all.
i had an issue w/acura dealer trying to repair rear bumper on my 07 NBP. i was basically told, the dealer quality is 90-95 %, this is after i complained to the service manager, cst relations mng and the dealer gm. i even went as far as contacting Acura, they sided w/the dealership. if you are as picky as i am, go over the body work when you p-u the car and if you are not satisfied have them redo it, but i would not trust the dealership..
NBP is an easier color to paint. But don't take it to the dealer to get repainted as they will usually just outsource to a contracted body shop and it may not be the best in town. Ask around and you will find a good body shop.
