Navigation Question!!???!?!?!?!?!?!

Hard to say, but it could very well be Alpine. Most of the "exclusively hardware" manufacturers of the past have had to staff up software departments - to the point that the newer software engineers far exceed the hardware engineers in staffing.
When companies develop products nowdays, many of them provide software development packages that allow customers to deveolp their product quicker.
So, as an example, the GPS receiver manufacturer won't just ship receivers to Alpine and say "Here you go! Have fun writing interface software to our product!"
Instead, the GPS receiver company (Navtech, for example) will sell their Software Development Package with useful function libraries (called Application Programmer Interfaces, or APIs) that Alpine can use, such as "What is my current position?", or "What is my current speed?", or "What direction am I heading?". Alpine can use these pre-packaged functions to develop their software faster which will take the results of those previous functions (and others) to figure out how to display your icon on the moving map.
End result - We really won't know who deveolped the software for Alpine - Alpine software engineers, Navtech on a contract to Alpine, or possibly some software company in India. Anybody's gues is valid ...

We do have largest LCD screen and fancy voice-controlled integrated system.
I just thought our Navi software could be better. This software company didn't do the good job yet. If you try to compare with other GPS systems in the market, you won't feel our Navi has any better cutting-edge technology. Our Navi should be better, more detailed, and more precise.

probably programmers from india, alot of companies are contracting out applications to india because it is dirt cheap for programming labor there. i would not expect acura to hire a department of developers for software. they are not a software company and probably would not want to invest all the time and money into nav software.
