Navigation in 2005

My lease on my MBZ is up in December, and I will be getting a TL then. I want to know if the 2005 will have my city in the new Nav DVD (its not in the 2004). Does anyone know who makes it, and what updates are planned?

I believe Alpine makes the Navi for Honda. Updates are usually out every fall.

It'll be more complicated.

From what I've read, I have to assume that there are three primary components:

1. The XM update info over AM - at the least, we'd need some type of add on module.
2. An interface between the XM receiver and the Navi system. Does anyone know if the Navi system has an input anywhere (i.e. USB, serial, etc.)? If not, or if the input is unusable for this purpose, we'd have to upgrade the Navi computer.
3. Software to recognize and interpret the new info - the easy part.

As much as I'd like to hope otherwise, I don't believe this will be cheap, if available at all.

I'm betting this will be on the 2006 TL.

I wonder the same thing. If our hardware is ready for this future system, it would be perfect. I really wish to see the simple firmware/software upgrade with new DVD data could make our system eligible with this new DVD XM traffice system.

Maybe the simple module add-in or the insert of expendable slot would help. Let see.

I think the DVD unit in the trunk have a slot like PCMCIA card.
