Is navi worth it!?

Edit: I wouldn't buy a TL without navi, but that's just me.......

^^^hold out for navi and a 6 speed (if you want a 6 speed). I would have held out for a 6 speed but this one had the dealer Aspec package which I really wanted so I got it. I wish I would have just waited and got a regular one and put a body kit on it because now I already got rid of the Aspec suspension, Aspec badge and the Aspec wheels will be going soon as well. So all that will be left is the body kit and steering wheel lol.
Anyways the moral of the story is hold out for what you really want otherwise you will not be happy. Oh and do lots of research is another moral lol

what year? Sound's decent but I'm sure you can find another good deal with navi if you really want it. Remember at the end of the day, it's your car and you gotta drive it. If navi isn't that important to you jump on it......

Thanks man.
But to clarify my point, I was naive when I bought the car. I thought the Aspec package was all that. Only to realize, the suspension was not exactly what I wanted so I swapped it for height adjustable coils. I debadged the rear so there goes the badge. And the wheels are nice, but now I want something a little nicer. All I am left with once I am done is the body kit, which I could have easily added. But I will never be able to add the 6 speed.
Anyways my point is, do your research, find out what you really want, and get what you really want. Good luck in your search

Nav is not just for directions but comes in handy when trying to find an alternate route. You can see what roads are ahead and adjust. The back-up cam is also a really nice plus. There's also Zagat and other search features. Phonebook, calendar, calculator and other small things too. Makes the interior look nicer.

I jsut recently bought my TL and I had to have the nav, like everyone else said its makes the interior look 100% more sexy and you have total control through it, as well as added perks to non navi. I don't think i've used it once, but when I do, I'll have it there!
A HUGE portion of what I love about my TL is related to the navi screen. Too many to list, but a lot is through mods. i.e. rear camera, wallpapers, diagnostic screen with access to gps sats, real time mpg, etc.
I love being able to find a place on the map, not even knowing the address, clicking on it, and it tells me how to get there. I love being able to scroll around and see what alternative roads there are. I love never being lost again, and driving around for hours.

The Nav is definitely worth it...especially when you go to resell your car.

The navi in the TL just makes it a whole lot better. Everything looks better, functions better and you have a whole new array of options with it like the DVD player, etc. Don't be one of the folks that wished they got it later...
Navi also saves you gas, when you are lost and trying to find the way to your destination quickly. With the navi, you never need to ask people (or consult the paper map) for directions again. You drive with confidence, knowing that you have the navi as your friendly navigator who never talks back or gives you snide remarks.
NAVI FTW! the best part is when you buy a doms unit for it and can watch dvd's on it. I have mine set up so I can play movies off my Iphone, it's perfect for long trips or when you have time to kill.
The deep green pearl was only offered in earlier years, so that milage is not bad. If you like the way it looks and like the feel of it, go for it. You'll be the one driving it, so decide on your personal preferences. Good luck!
As I've always said here, the best part of getting the Navi is that you'll never be one of the 10's of 1000's who didn't that looked back afterwards banging their heads into the wall wishing they had.
That screen is the heart of the interior and makes a superior impression on passsengers. All the voice control over the car's climate and audio systems you get with it comes in very handy at times as well.

I was certain I wanted one without Navi after reading all threads that say it costs $3k when the screen goes dead. I would ask yourself how long you plan to own the car after warranty expires. I used to flip cars every two years until I woke up and realized they are just depreciating assets and the lowest total cost of ownership comes well after year 7. My last two cars were 10 years old when I traded them. I ended up finding an 08 that had nav for the same price as one that didn't so I ended up going with the nav for the chance of better resale. In retrospect if I end up keeping this car beyond year 7 I don't expect the screen to last that long, laptops don't so I can't see why the nav screen would.

Get the navi, you won't regret it...it's worth every penny
I bought a new '08 without Navi and don't regret it. My Garmin does the job when I need it and the savings kept the TL in my price range.
That said, for a used TL, the price differential is likely to be less, so for $1000 more it's worth it because you'll get most of that back when you sell the car.
However, if you find a great deal on a non-navi, then I don't think you should pass it up just because it's missing navi. Buy a decent Garmin unit and you'll be set.
It also depends if you're looking to do mods that need the screen. If so, then it's a must.
