Question NAVI Voice

Just picked up my 04TL last week. Living in OC I am piss.. off when there is no traffic now...don't want to get to work just drive. Traded in a Lexus with Navi. I had an option to turn the voice off when I did not want it. I have not fond such an option on the TL. Can anyone help?

On setup screen #1 you can put the Navi voice volume to zero.

They should have put a "mute" button on the main map screen, IMO.

There is also an OFF button on Set-up Screen #1, or is that what you meant?

Can we use volume control of the steering wheel to adjust it while Navi is talking? I don't remember now...

you can also turn of the respond you get back from the navi, for example when you say , find nearest fast food, navi will repeat that, you can turn that off too!

My 1st - Yes I meant OFF, thanks for the clarification.

rets - No, you can't control Navi volume from wheel.

TLja - Yes you can turn off the responses but I don't recommended it. The Navi gets it wrong often enough that you usually need to know what it thinks you said.

Nav Voice

Is there a way to turn off the Navi Voice that gives directions but keep the voice that verifies voice commands on?

i too wanted to turn off the voice, and i found setup screen #1. I noticed that I could, when on that screen, say things to voice cmd to get it to change the volume. I forget exactly what I said, but I think it was "navigation volume up" or "higher" or some such.

I tried those voice cmds again, and couldnt get it to do that. Perhaps you can only do this while looking at that screen?

If anyone knows the voice cmd to adjust the navi voice -- regardless of what screen the navi is on -- pls let me know! This would be an especially useful thing to toggle easily.
