?NAV Rearview Camera Retrofit?
I know the NAV units on the MDX and TL are different but I was wondering if anyone has taken a look at the back of their 04TL NAV units to see if there is a plug for adding the rearview camera. Acura probably uses the same supplier and there should be standard connections on the back. They may even use FujitsuTen who also makes the Toyota/Lexus NAVs.
When I get my '05TL, I want to add a camera (if they don't make it standard on the '05).
I have both backup sensors and a rearview camera on my minivan and I find the camera is more useful when parking in tight New York spots. The sensors do not tell you exactly how close you are, only that you are close or closer.
I know that Toyota NAV units can be upgraded (Solara/Tundra/Sienna) and here's the link:
Toyota Rearview Camera Upgrade
Pretty simple plug and play then route the wire for the camera.
Thanks guys.

I have a TL and my parents just bought an MDX, I do like the camera as well. I think it should have been included with our car. WHY NOT?

Cuz this is an entry luxury sedan, not a full luxury like the RL. If U want a camera so bad, go get an RL.

not nessicarily.....The MDX is quite a bit heftier and higher than the TL and thus needs the camera to prevent backing up and running over children, Hitting Low/Small cars, etc...
