Can anybody tell me if there is a difference between the Napa Gold oil filter and the Nascar filter they sell for half that price?

I believe that the Gold filters are a Wix filter or at least they used to be, I dont know anything about the nascar filter though

i'd stick with the Honda ones as the filtration on them is great, and I have heard that the Napa, fram and few others are cheap cardboard filters that don't do jack.

the napa gold is a wix as are the carquest premium. I don't know about the standard filters from these companies nor do I know anything about the "nascar" filter. I'm assuming that nascar sold out once again and put their name on an oil filter. I have used carquest premium filters and they seem to work fine. I used wix racing filters on my 525HP 8000 RPM dry sumped small block chevy race engines (oval track) without any problems (they were huge filters). I currently run a Purolator pure one filter. You can't go wrong with many of them, just stay away from the fram junk.

The Nascar one has less filter media and a different type of media.
