I only have one wish for my new 2006 TL. I often like to leave the window slightly cracked on very hot days. For some reason this is difficult to do on the TL. Everything else on the TL beats the crap out of my old PT Cruiser which the wife now drives.

 

One thing that should have been in the 3G TL right from the start was an auxiliary audio jack as iPods and MP3 players were already immensely popular by 2003.

The '04/5/6 should have had turn signal mirrors. After all, the 1st 3000 '04's produced had them listed on the window sticker even though the cars came without.

As for the leather, Lexus and BMW's leather quality has always been superior to Acura.

2 things I would add is:

1. Push button start
2. Panoramic sunroof

 

no body though of this so I just want to add.

1. DOHC engine with power out put at 305 HP at 3.5 Liter motor.
2. Ventilated seat.
3. Blue Tooth music stream.
3. Live weather up date on Navi system.
4. Less rattle within interior.

 

Headlights bright as lazers (were close, but not bright enough).
and the ablity to hover (again we are close, but I want to acually hover not just look and feel like im hovering)
Rockets and mini guns.(fo zombies!)

 

RWD/AWD and a better navi.

Power folding mirrors, cooled front seats, heated steering, auto leveling lights/swivel basically the AFS system on the RL. Overall those few things that would make it nice...so you DON'T have to get a damn RL, which hell the first 3 of those you don't even get on the RL unless you buy a 2011-2012 and theyre ugly as hell.

 

I have it on my Infiniti G37s, use it 2-3 times a year.

 

I wish it had the 2012 SH-AWD Tech package 6 sp with the body lines of a 3g Type S.

to contribute to the thread i would want a dual clutch transmission. having a dual clutch would make the TL-S faster than the 6mt. that is the most important thing i would add if it were possible

 

^ The only heads-up display I have is my radar detector. Maybe Acura will do a Ford-like transformation (with the mustang) and go back to the body lines of a successful styled car in the 5th gen TL. Chrysler and Chevy has done the same thing too so there is hope for Acura- hopefully we don't have to wait 30 years to see that happen.

That would be nice getting a 3G Body, fold down seat, dual-clutch, and AWD. I would buy that car today if it was available and at a < 40K price point.

 

Second. Folding seats makes a huge difference

I thought the auto type s didnt have torque steer or at least not as much as the base models.

 

3 words, satellite based navigation! Disc based navi is the dumbest thing to ever be created. They are obsolete before they are even made.

Just my opinion, but the point of this thread is like asking "hey, it's 2012, what feature would did you wish that your PS2 to came with?" The answer is obvious, everything that the PS3 has but less bulky.

Now, take what I said above and replace PS2 with "3G TL" with PS3 with "4G TL". If we can only go back and put current technology (minus the beak) and specs in a nearly 9 year old car.

 

if i want a AWD, i would get a SUV and move to snowy place
plus if it came with AWD and better leather, you wouldn't pay the price that you paid.

However, I would love to have
1. Adaptive headlight
2. Bluetooth streaming

 

Most things I would love to have in the TL can be added aftermarket... but some of the things that can't be added:

1. RWD (That goes for the 3G, 4G, and probably 5G)
2. Adaptive Cruise Control and a Blind Spot detection system

From the factory I really wish our 3G had A2DP Bluetooth Music Streaming (& AUX input in the '04-'06s) and better built seats.

Turbo, my original idea behind the thread was to compare the features on the 2004-08 TL's to the features on it's competitors also from 2004-08. I agree, it would be rather silly to compare the 3G to the 4G and say, "Gosh, I wish the 3G had all the features of the 4G.

Obviously the value of the 3G TL was very high due to its aggressive pricing. I just think that there were a few fairly cheap features that where available on it's competitors that could have been added to the 3G TL without bumping the price up too much.

 

1. the seat memory should have included steering wheel position
2. rear folding seats would be nice too

 

1. Split folding rear seats.

2. Sunroof slider should have slots in it for ventilation to flow through even when totally shut (like my 1999 RL had)

3. A better sounding sound system with a MIDRANGE tone control. I hate loud vocals. Hurts my ears.

4. More room for the drivers right knee. My right knee is butted right up against the console/dash.

5. Somewhere to brace your left knee during right hand cornering. If you place your left foot down against the dead pedal, your left knee has nowhere to brace itself. The door panel is too far to the left, and the door handle is too far rearward.

6. More trunkroom.

7. If possible, a hatchback design while keeping the same or very close styling. Sort of like how the Mazda6 had.

fast forwarding a song using the steering wheel controls. i cant believe this car doesnt have that.

 

I wish the cockpit of my B52 was as nice and technologically advanced as the cockpit in my Type-S. Although the late night highway cruising with the whole interior bathed in ambient red glow brings me back to my T38 low level days...

I want AWD. I'm tired of feeling understeer at 60mph around on-ramps.
If the 5G brings out a Type-S, I'm just going to stand outside an Acura dealership and throw money at it until someone pulls one up for me to take home.
