I dont like to race my acura. However, this guy was just really pissing me off. I was on 287 (for the east coast guys) when a blue 330ci started to follow me. I was on the left lane going 80 (on a 60 mile zone) and the 330 decides to race past me and cut me. I am just laughing my butt off because he is just trying to show off his car which i am unimpressed because I had a e36 m3. Besides i knew well that my acura could kill it on a roll. So he goes on the right lane and he slows down. I pass him (im still going at 80) and i see him hitting it and trying to pass me again. not this time... I downshift to 3rd and I just hit it. We were dead even for a few seconds and when i quickly switched to 4th, still even but then in a matter of seconds I quickly gained 2 cl and then time to shift to 5th and then just disappear. This race would have been done in a heart beat if we went at it at the same time. Still, it was a nice looking car... I could hear the intake, and he had angel eyes and clear corners with tinted windows. ANyways, it's been a while since i had a race. Thanks for reading. NO offense to the 330ci owners...

330i's straight-line acceleration is sort of hyped up.

I remember people telling me that a 330i would dust me. I raced a 330Ci w/ manual transmission shortly after that, and I dusted his ass. I only had an intake at the time, as far as power mods are concerned.

I have a friend with a 330ci 5-speed manual and I've raced him in my TL-S (havent had a chance yet in my 04). It was close, but I would start walking him in 3rd gear of the TL-S so that I would put about 1.5 car lengths on him to a bit over 100 mph. He's a damn good driver too.

yeah well 330ci are overrated. BUt the 330i with the performance package (ZHP) is said to be faster than the e36 m3 and the 3rd gen TL

GA you have a 3gen TL?

I think the 330 + manual trans (last gen) should be close to a little slower than my 2005 6mt TL.

I raced a 95-99 M3 three times last year and was pulling away in 3rd gear.

that's just ignorance right there... check out bimmerforums.com The e36 m3 will have the edge on a roll or off the line. I know bc i had one. They pull so much harder than the TL. The TL loses so much time off the line bc its FWD

Agreed. e36 m3's are pretty quick, it would be near impossible for a FWD tl to take a RWD m3 off the line. It would be more feasible that the tl could keep up from a roll, but I'd put my money on the m3. They're low 14 sec cars in stock form...

I don't know codes, but the newer or latest body style M3s run mid to low 13s, there is no f-in way a TL with a 6 speed will run with em, from a roll stop or even with a head start... I hope you guys are talking about the boxier versions from the late 90s.

The E36 is the late 90s version. I think they had 240hp.

Late 90's M3 was the one I raced, I walked him, but I was shifting at redline and shifting really good. When I shortshifted the first time he and I were even.

A new M3 would walk me bad, they run 13.2 stock.

(response from the eastcoast guy) 287 has quite alot of cops. Good race, and I am sure you were careful about the cops when you raced. 330ci is no match for your 3rd Gen TL. Good run buddy

Well guys my brother and a good freind of mine both have 330's. One is a 04 convertible and the other is a 02 coupe, and my brother's coupe and the convertible both have Dinan cai,exhaust,chip, and throttlebody, And beleive me thoose two cars are an exception from the rule they are not slow at all. I had my brothers coupe doing 140 recently and the car had plenty left beleive me I think if I had tried I could do the whole dash easy granted it only has about 150 on the dash its a monster with the upgrades. From driving my brothers 330 with the upgrade sim almost possitive in a straight live he will smoke a second gen easy and if they were stick im sure he would smoke a 3rd gen.Now if there are corners involved the beamer walks all over the tl easy!!!!!!!!!

The 330Ci is no match for 3rd Gen TL ..The E36 is exactly as G Tech said it will get any Acura off the line but once the VTEC kicks in we get them. I have been in my boy's 01 CL-S and we raced a 99 M3 and got em by 2 car lengths at 120mph. NO ACURA is a match for the E46 so let's not even go there.

I can say from a personal experience that the E36 M3 is no match for my TL-S, straight line acceleration-wise.

Besides, when EVERYONE is telling you that you're wrong, and that you're an idiot in your own thread, then that says something. Dwell on that.

I raced a 330Ci stick. He was acting like a jackass and rolled forward by half a carlength. Launched at the same time on green, and I walked him despite the disadvantage. So he cut me off and almost put me into the curb.

Now my brother's '05 TL 6-speed is pretty much even with my car. So by a simple mathematical equation, TL6 = TL-S, and TL-S > 330Ci stick, therefore TL6 > 330Ci stick.

Or should I draw it out for you on a piece of paper?

I test drove the 330 before I decided on the TL, and it still is pretty quick, glad you taught that jerk a thing or two though!

Your brother's 330Ci is modded of course it will have a better chance against a TL but a stock 330Ci loses to a 04-05TL by 4 car lengths. If you mod the 04-05 TL your brother's modded 330Ci may lose. The chip adds a big difference just like the chip makes a beast out of all the 1.8t's . Stock vs Stock TL>330Ci

only mod is INJEN intake and 19" rims. Cruising in 3rd (5AT) at 80mph side by side. Gave the nod, punched it.....shifted to 4rth was doing 125 in no time and M3 2 car lengths behind. Goodbye M3........

Sorry to pull you guys away from masterbating at the thoughts of this particular late gen M3 pulling on me, however, first read my subject line on my original post. Late model M3.....i'm not that fucking stupid to even try to attempt the latest generation M3's.

And, I give props for the older M3 for trying as at one point since he was actually a few feet from my rear bumper then I shifted in 4th and started to slowly pull away until my V1 started giving me a few chirps on the 880 southbound here in the bay area. Maybe he's a bad driver.....not my fuckin problem. I didn't notice or hear any mods.......not my fuckin problem also. Easily my fuckin kill.

And "03CoupeV6" is very original. How long did it take for you to come up with that?

HAHAHAH no kidding... I was thinking about doing all sorts of crazy mods, like a comptech supercharger, and the rear sway bar, etc.. until I realized "why the fuck do I want to race my 35K luxury sedan??" lol Oh well, taking it to 120 is still a lot of fun, and the occasional street race with the random subaru wrx or lancer evo always gets my heart going, but even still. If I wanted a race car I would of just bought a Supra and called it a day.
