My search is over! .....New '07 TL-S owner!
Finally after searching for a few years of looking for MY Type S I finally found it! I constantly checked autotrader and cars.com looking for a sub 80k Kinetic Blue Pearl 6mt with a black interior. I found a few that turned out to be a complete pieces of crap and of course passed on those.
Finally I found it! it was sitting at a dealer near Portland OR and wasn't listed long.

6mt, black interior, 63,000mi, one owner, always dealer maintained. Literally EXACTLY what I was looking for so I moved quickly, luckily for me I work for a local dealer and was able to have the purchase arranged through my job.
I committed to the purchase at the end of October and had the car shipped from Portland to Chicago.
After a few paperwork mistakes (thanks corporate) the car was finally underway
It arrived 11-20 dirty as crap

I've got to say that I love this car! Even more than I thought I would. In the short period of time I've owned it I took the car on a trip from Chicago to Detroit to visit my parents and couldn't believe how comfortable the ride was along the way.
The gears are definetly turning on where I'm going with this car, there's a few mods I have my eye on. For now I'm just enjoying how stock it is.
And just for fun a few pics of my "race car"

Awesome story and beautiful Type S. I too brought a gem to the Chicago area from out of state. Your gonna love it!
One thing I noticed is yours has the body side moulding. Although it's all personal preference, most don't like how it looks. Just an FYI those things peel off very easily in less than 10 min. Congrats on the purchase!

Although it's not a big deal and looks fine, you may want to find up out why it has a "base" front bumper and not a "TypeS" styled one. But yes, the typeS 6MT is a beautiful machine and I enjoy it every day.

Yeah, with the front bumper, I really didn't even catch that looking at the car on the internet. The car does have a clean carfax and other than a front bumper and windshield everything else is original and doesn't show any signs of real damage. I'm assuming at one point the front bumper was cracked up with the aspec front and the PO opted for this bumper for ground clearance....
Either way, I still thoroughly enjoy the car

If you do some searches, you'll see that people have put different lips on different bumpers. I actually have the base lip on my Type S bumper. Since you already have a base bumper, if the front lip is sold out in KBP (many colors are discontinued) and you needed to get one painted anyway, maybe consider a base lip since it would fit perfectly to your car.
Nice pickup! Glad to see another Type S in the area!

So here is the cool thing. The front aspec kit is one of those that you either love it or hate it. Since you have the base bumper you now have the opportunity to use the base aspec kit which IMO looks way better than the Type S one which is a little above the top IMO. You'll obviously have to get it painted KBP since that was not an available color option for the base car. I just think the Type S front bumper aspec kit is kind of awkward and doesn't flow very well with anything else. Your car will look amazing with the base aspec in front!!!
As far as if the Type S kit will fit base bumper, I'm not sure.

Maybe someone can confirm any modifications needed to make the type s a-spec fit? Here is a link to a new frnt type-s a-spec in KBP.......

Three Wheelin'
The type s front lip does look funky on screen sometimes, I kept debating back and forth myself, but it looks much better in person. Look at both on a car before making the call. Looks even better if you lower it

Thanks for the Advice! Yeah I'm not a fan of Financing anything, in fact this was my first vehicle purchase that I've made without having the full amount in hand (all cheap cars, I work at a dealership). I flat out refused to purchase and finance a vehicle that wasnt 100% what i was looking for.
I came close to settling twice on this search. Once for a really nice WDP that was in excellent condition but higher mileage made me hesitant and the car sold. The Second was for a KBP in San Francisco, but that one had a tan interior. On that one i was on the phone with the dealer as they were turning their computers on saturday morning. They asked since i was calling so early to fill out the credit app online and call back an hour after submitting it, well in that time frame there was a guy in Friday night that couldnt get approved on financing. While my credit was being ran he showed up with his own financing arranged, car gone!
Oh well, just led me to finding this one which was IT!
After taxes and shipping it was $23,500
I washed it really good at work and snapped a few more pictures. Too bad my iPhone camera doesnt do this color justice

Damn that's perfect. That being said, steam clean your seats to get any human funk off it. Then use some leatherique to moisturize the seats and then seal every surface in with some 303 aerospace protectant. If you have the space and time, clay the car and put some paint sealant on it to get it through the winter. It looks freaking beautiful!
For wheels use sonax wheel cleaner. Safe on all surfaces and use Meguiars Hot rims Brake Dust Barrier. Makes it easier to wash brake dust off and saves you from using your wheel cleaner as much. I only use it about once a month now.

The car was actually completely detailed before I took it home. While I finished my day at work, the used car manager had the car sent out since it arrived soooo dirty. Once Spring comes I have a friend thats ridiculous in his attention to detail and i'm droppin it off with him for the day.
Sorry about you're loss! Finding another one in this color seems like it would be nearly impossible
