My New '08 TL Type S
FINALLY I found and purchased my 08 TL Type S 6mt. Definitely required the combination of patience and dumb luck. Absolutely love everything about the car with the exception of the inabilty to hook my iPod/iPhone up to it for music purposes. I understand there are attatchments available for purchase out there, any one have any insight on what exactly I should be looking for? I appreciate any feedback.

you can connect your mp3 player with an aux cable. that's the cheapest option. but if you want to integrate it completely, i believe many use the iSimple or other similar products. congrats on the car! what color is it?

Thanks for the feedback. Carbon Bronze Pearl, love the color.
I didn't see an aux input anywhere on the stereo. Am I missing something?

agreed the aux input is the quickest/cheapest solution and all you need is a decent length male to male 3.5mm stereo cable
the aux port is directly below the 12v charger in this pic and has the same round cover over it you need to lift up:

I went with a DICE Mediabridge myself and was exactly what I was looking for in an ipod integration unit. iSimple as mentioned is popular and USA-SPEC and Grom Audio make decent units as well I've heard.

welcome to the site, I think the cheapest solution for your MP3 music is going through that cassette player (putting them into good use) if not then the Aux is your best option
, BTW we need to see some pics lol.

Whatever you do don't run from iPhone headphone jack to AUX. Total waste when you can have SUPREME sound quality by plugging in the LINE OUT at the bottom of your iPhone with a wire that goes iPhone dock out -> 3.5 mm.
You definitely have one. Lift the plastic flap beneath the cig lighter in there.

I have an '08 Type S, our console underneath the front center arm rest looks slightly different from the picture that was posted.
However the aux input is in that larger bottom tray. It's actually located exactly where that 12v is. There is no cover to it, just a little black plate that does not sit flush with the surface and has a small 3.5mm hole
My issue is that I would have to keep the mp3 player in that tray unless there is a way to route the 3.5mm line out of the tray. So sometimes I just use the tape deck car adapter as someone else suggested. That or create mp3 cds, you can fit quite a few songs on those =P
Any help on routing the 3.5mm line out of the bottom tray so the lid can still close?

There should be an opening like that in your car. Left red circle is for line out of bottom tray. Right red circle is for when you want to access your iPod/mp3 player. What I normally do is close my cup holders and put my iPod on top of that. It's easy to access and there's minimal wire clutter. Hope this helps!

Nice looking Type S. I'm not a yellow fog fan either, but....

Nice pick up, enjoy it in good health! Wish I could've pick up a type S model, but I am happy with the base 6speed. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
