My Leather!!!!!
My Leather!!!!!
My stupid friend sat in my TL without knowing his pen was sticking out from his rear pocket, he sat in and left a long pen mark on my leather seat!!!
So he decided to give me a hand, he tried using rubbing alcohol and got rid of the pen mark....but thats not the end of the story....NOW the leather where he rubbed is starting to peel and the color has faded....!!!!!!!!!
Guys any suggestions on how I can repair the leather????? I AM SO PISSED OFF!!!!

omg dude LEXOL... should've used LEXOL, I accidentally dropped permanent maker while sitting in back seat and labling cd's, and lexol cleaner and conditioner did the job.
hope some one else can answer your question!

Nope....you can use lexol now to condition the leather but once it breaks down (dries out which alcohol will do to leather) there's not turning back. You can just stop the bleeding.

Nope...like getting worn jeans....patch it or buy new ones but you can't make fabric come back to life.

What a dumbass. Who keeps pens in their pants pockets?

I do all the time, being in school means I need to have a pen available :p
But I do take shit out of my pockets before I get in the car.
You should be able to replace either just the back or butt portiion of the seat.. Will be provided as leather cover only or worse be the heater (butt portion) with foam and the works. Either way I'm sure it won't be cheap. I had the custom sport leather seats in my 94 conv vette - mechanic made a small cut in the passenger butt section... The cost if I had to replace it was $600, due to the car having all of 26 miles on it the dealer didn't even question my demands...
I would definitely go the "factory" route vs an aftermarket repair. Bottom line, sorry for your unfortionate issue.
For future thought, if you regularly condition your leather with a good cream, ink marks will come out quite easily. I can honestly say that I have already cleaned up my own ink marks, parchment interior no less - I've been using Zaino's "Leather in a Bottle" and love it.
Best of luck

Seat bottom leather will run you $260 + shipping from www.acuraautomotiveparts.org.
Get down on all fours and beg at the dealership. I got two cushions replace on my TL because I complained about excessive wrinkles.
Maybe your seat cushion has excessive wrinkles and needs to be replace.....
Yeh that the ticket!!
I think your friend deserves, a good old fashioned BEATING!!!!

My wife left an ink mark on my camel interior leather. It set in over 2 days. I tried a pencil eraser which faded the pen mark but also faded the leather. I eventually used nail polish remover (acetone) which did remove the pen mark but slightly faded the leather; that's probably your best bet. My personal advice is to visit an upholstry shop. Good Luck.

no, as I get older - I find I have less and less friends for reasons like that. ..The "friend" who wrecks your car seat, "friend" who spills red wine on the carpet, "friend" who kicks your dog...
