My First Mod. What Should I Do First?!?!

So I'm about to bite the bullet and start modding up the car. Debating between Neuspeed Supercup Kit + RSB or ASpec Body Kit. What would you guys pick first?

Or what other options for about the same price?

But a drop would make it look nice too. Is your car riding on stock height with aspec kit? Got any pics of a kit + stock ride height?

Besides tints, my first mod was the a spec kit. It just completes the car, and sets it off from all the other TLs on the road.

Tints always look great on a TL. It's an excellent first mod.

Search for "thespoilerstore" and check out that lip spoiler. Cheap and adds a lot for the bucks spent!

i think my very first mod was the rear sway bar upgrade. If I could only do one performance mod, that would be it.

Depends what you're going for.. All show? or All go? If you're aiming towards looks, I would get the aspec kit first, drop it then a rsb. The tl looks fine riding stock height with the apec kit, still looks cool. For performance I would get a j-pipe/3rd cat delete. Keep it sleeper naw mean?

I already got tints, it came with the car when I bought it. I don't even consider it a mod lol.

I'm more going for show because the TL would require too much money and work to make it go - go. I still consider a drop a show/go mod.

My modus operandi was to only get Drop and RSB, Then add some 18's, maybe 19's (either some 5 spoke, split 5 spoke or mesh style rims) and then a body kit. Maybe cleared headlights and LED's and then leave it at that.

Sigh...I cant decide which direction to go lol

I see that you're in the South Bay. Any chance if I do bite the bullet on the neuspeed supercups you can help me install the parts? The time will be compensated with i dont know...dinner? pizza and beer?

1- AspecKit
2- Tint
3- Drop with Selex Racing Suspension (adjustable height and damping)
4- Clear/BlackedOut Headlights (cheap but it takes balls and DIY talent)
5- Interior LEDS
6- Handle Key hole mod

Remember, when you begin, there's no way back. You'll simply never stop moding after that point

The pin stripe came with the car when i got it It actually has grown on me

Intake would be way later down the road after a drop, body kit and rims. As much as I love that growl from an intake, I can wait longer for it. No one sees the intake anyways when its parked.

I agreeeeee...with you! Get a drop. THEN some wheels, then the body kit. Then again, doing them all at once would be even better!

Edit: Congrats on the car by the way!!!

It really boils down to-do you want your car to look better or perform better?

Haha drop first of course, you'll get more satisfaction out of the looks/stance AND driving/handling. Whereas the aspec kit would just be looks with a huge wheel gap

Thanks for the congrats, but i've had the car for almost two years now. I was going to keep it stock, but lately have been hit with the mod-bug. Too bad I don't have unlimited disposable income or else I would just buy everything.

Yeah I was thinking a kit would make it have too much of a wheel gap. And I tried to get that pinstriped removed, but the body shop quoted me some outrageous price. I'll leave it on for now and see how I feel about it later because so far its only been car enthusiasts that give me shit for the pin strip haha

Is the pinstripe painted or is it just a sticker?

I know Acura painted it and also put a sticker on.

I had a sticker one on my 1G TL but then there are a few people that had it painted.

I believe its a sticker. And after I started this thread I ended up searching how to remove pin stripes. Seems pretty easy to remove with a lil heat and googone then follow it up with a polish and a wax. But first things first - i think im leaning more towards a drop + RSB.

Free mods and cheap mods (less than 50) while saving for drop is the way to go

Yea you can drop it and also debadge, remove the pinstripe, black out the headlights, get fogs, and LEDs while you are saving.

They are all cheap mods.

try debadging. It's free and quick. If you like the mod, you'll know.

So I decided on a drop + RSB. It seems like my next move will be pinstripe removal and debadging because I wont have any extra money for a while. Do you really consider debade and removing a sticker a mod though lol

If I don't like the debadge, what do you use to put the emblem back on?

Yes they are considered a mod. I considered them a mod.

You can use some 3M double-sided tape
