My ACURA Dealer gave me a TSX Laoner

Well my TL is in the shop for warranty replacements. For the time being my service advisor gave me a 05' TSX with only 4200 miles. Well this is my first time driving this car or for that matter sitting in one. I noticed the car is much smaller than my TL. When I started the car it started quieter than my TL. I put the car in drive and was on my way back home about 20 miles from the dealership. The car has great pickup and very smooth as it changes through its gears. Had a very tight steering wheel. The ride was very comfortable.

The driver seat felt higher up than my TL's drivers seat. When I backed up, I noticed the sideview mirrors didn't drop down for easy viewing. The sound system has ok but cant compare to the TL'S sound system. I did notice it had a lot of bass in the speakers but when I turned the volume up to 20 the rear speakers started to make cracking noise, so I quickly turned the volume down.

On the exterior I like that the car has turning signals on the sideview mirrors. On the door handles there are chrome strips. On the top outline of the doors there are chrome strips.

I give the TSX 7 OUT OF 10

I just came back from returning my '05 TSX loaner and must say that i was impressed with the car, although i'd never ever ever ever (imagine chris tucker in Friday) give up my TL for it. Also, I must say that the TSX is way too small for anyone over '6 tall.

When I drove the TSX 6MT as a test drive I really hoped it would be like a mini-TL or TL's little brother. If fact it wasn't, at least to me. It really seemed much smaller inside than the TL and the interior was nice but still not what I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was nice but just not as refined as I thought it would be. But...the 6MT version of the TSX absolutely flew. Very quick for its engine size and really nimble in the turns. From my recollection the shifting was much shorter in throw than the TL 6MT and smoother. Dare I say the gears were in fact better in some ways to my 6MT TL.

I really do prefer the TLs styling to the TSX, especially from the back. (I really hate round tail lights ) I also needed the extra room for a growing family. And, the TL really does have more "guts". The ELS was also way better than the TSX stock system. The TL and TSX really are very different. So it wasn't TLs little brother, mini-TL and I stayed with my original plan to get a TL.

If I ever do need a loaner I'd be more than satisfied if a TSX's keys were tossed to me. And even more so if it was an MT. I'd gladly drive that car once in a while.

My wife bought an '05 TSX 5AT to joint my '04 TL. I find the car quite a bit smaller than my TL. I can't seem to get comfortable in it. I'm 6'4" tho. I've got gobs of room in the TL. I've seen posts on the TSX site from 6'+ owners that claim to have plenty of room. I only drive it on short jaunts on the weekend and couldn't imagine a long trip in it. It is a spirited little bugger tho'. The four cylinder puts out some juice. The stereo does seem to have more bass at lower volume, kinda like the 2nd gen TL's Bose. The handling is tighter and crisper than the TL. I really love the ride in my TL. All in all, it is a great car for my wife, but I'll take the TL if I have the choice.

I was set on a TSX 6-speed (smooth car; the automatic seemed to sap too much torque) until my wife convinced me to get a car with an automatic. That's when I started looking at the auto TL and G35 instead of the 6-speed RX-8 and TSX. The TSX is a nice car I would have been happy with (esp. at gas pumps nowadays), but the TL is a wonderful car I look forward to driving, even with the slushbox.
Yes, I may be "whipped," but it could be worse- she could have taken the TL for herself...

I sat in a TSX last week during my oil change at dealership. Indeed it is lot smaller and almost feels like same size as pontiac sunfire I occasionally get picked up for ride to school. Just look at the center floor console. Overall dash looks smaller too
