Awesome update!!! Good looking garage too! I hope to epoxy my floor soon. I might do a blue epoxy with black and white flake as well.
Yeah that damn APP sensor finally got me.. in the middle of a highway intersection.. I was lucky enough to get across and pull to the side so I could restart her. I bought a new one as well.. 10 minutes later I was lighting the old one on fire. At least it puts our cars in limp modes unlike Toyota..
I'm 200 miles from hitting the 105k mark myself. Just changed the timing belt & all the goodies inside + the thermostat & plugs. I'm hoping to hit 210k sooner than later so I can do it again.

If you are going to epoxy the garage floor, do it in the same blue I have and get the white/beige flakes. Also make sure to go over it with the optional clear coat. The first time I did it (4 years ago) I never put the clear on. Now with the clear on, it is just like glass.....Oh and they have non-skid in the clear so no worries slipping on it. Do it blue Majofo!
I just looked at my dipstick for my oil change, with Amsoil 5w30 in it. And was surprised after 6k miles, it was BLACK. I mean really black. And I show 40% left on my oil life. I am changing it next weekend for my trip to Nashville since I will put on 3k miles over 1.5 weeks. But makes me wonder if the Oil life indicator is too long. I will be putting Penzoil Platinum in it this time around.

Lite it on fire.....haha! You actually got me to LOL on that one. The APP is a no joke thing when you need the power at the critical time like you did and it had nothing.

I have 50% or 40% after 5000 miles each month but I never go by the mid. I think it is crazy to allow more than 5000 miles on any oil period. When is the last DATE you changed it? 6 months ago? My meathod is 3 months or 5000 miles.....Whatever comes first. That works out to 4 oil changes a year. I think we can all afford that!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread, especially all of the details and pictures.

This is an amazing post, sounds just like how I maintained my 200k+ 99 honda accord i'm trading up from, Just got an 06 CGP 6MT TL 45k on the clock, a few backlights on the buttons are out and there are cracks on the seat leathers of the front seats, the stealership actually agreed to replace all of the above under the warranty.
I plan to get the Oil changed ASAP, i've used Pennzoil 5W-30 for all DD cars for the last 15 years, i've only used Mobil 1 in track/wknd cars (240sx, s2k, g35 etc). I have mostly freeway miles and I have a habit of changing it out every 5k miles rain or shine. Is the full synthetic necessary for the TL's?
Less viscosity, longer shelf life, but oil never lasts more than 3-4 months in my car before the 5k mark.
Also in your 1st post, you changed the rotors/pads, which ones did you go with?
In my dd honda i've used all OEM parts and they've been the best as far as a balance of low dust, durability, brake performance ( obviously some aftermarket ones like hawks have better brake performances, but they either dust more or eat up rotors.)

btw, how are the koni yellow/HR springs working for you? I'm giving the aspec suspension a serious thought, I don't want to lower the car much more than stock (my area has mean-o-speed bumps and bad drive ways. The A-spec would cost ~800 so same as your setup.
Kudos for lifetime alignment, I use to use that all the time on my 240 going to and from the track to change my camber settings (-1.5F -1.0R) for street (-2.5F -2R) track

Thanks guys! I will hit 210,000 miles on the car come Tuesday of next week. Going to bring the TL in at the 220k service in about two months so look for more photoes and updates..
Mr Skillet! I always use synthetic in all of my cars so I have never needed any engine work done on any of my cars so I gotta say I will continue to use it for good insurance. As far as the Konis go....They are great but if you live in a pothole filled area, stick with the aspec setup. The brakes were replaced with Rotora (low dust/ceramic pads) and they have been great and I put stoptech rotors on all four corners.
Check out the thread I posted back in the day!

I put H&R springs on my car about 35,000 miles ago.
mmade22 did his springs that very same day, but about 135,000 miles ago (if not more).

nice writeup, I wish I wouldve got one with low miles on it so I could have kept up with the maintenance like you did- I dont think the previous owner did anything to the one I just bought. Im gonna be doing a lot of the preventative maintenance here shortly.

Props on the write ups for all your maintenance, it's really amazing how meticulous you've been with the records, receipts and photos.
It's been very educating for me, took notes, and plan to follow your plan for mileage success!

Hey mmade22,
Just came across this thread. Very interesting reading. We've got an 04 which we love. Only suggestion is in regards to tires. Switch your concern from mileage you get with them to performance a little more. After all, you've got great springs and shocks. But the tires you are using aren't up to the performance level of your suspension components at all.
A good tire to consider is the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric (not the all season version). Much better performance. You'll notice it immediately. A performance tire is the single most cost effective change you can make to increase handling performance.
Also, it increases safety as well. Since the limits of your cars handling are dictated by traction, and the limit of traction is based almost completely on the tires, better tires will increase safety in emergency situations. Especially with ABS and VSA. Your limits of adhesion, and therefore your limit before you go out of control in an emergency will be much higher.

I love this thread. Congratulations on keeping a gorgeous TL in tip top shape. Saw your ad on craigslist and sorry to hear you're letting it go. My hat's off to you for your attention to detail and maintenance. I drive a 1994 Legend coupe with 441,000 on the original engine, transmission, and clutch. I bought it at 95,000 from the original owner and have every receipt for every single dollar spent on maintenance. These Acuras will run forever.

Good one. I sure hope my car is just as good when it hits 110K miles.
But most likely you will see it with a second hand owner who is going to put those fake side engine air cooling grills and use as a get away car for a bank robbery

Well, this has to be a record in anyone trying to sell a car with 215,000 miles on it.....SOLD IT SOLD IT SOLD IT! I had the car up on Craigs list and within an hour I had a call and we talked....He called back later and we talked some more and then he gave me a deposit. I am on my way up to Martinsville, VA tomorrow for work and he wants to check the car out so it works out. He was going to drive to me today so I saved him a trip. He is picking it up this weekend and I take delivery of my new car Saturday.
Jim everything was sold with the car. I know they got a good deal with the amount of aftermarket parts were put on the car. The system (amps, sub, EQ, etc is being sold in parts) Want to buy a sub Jim?

$8K! that's ridiculous! Especially with all his mods and the condition of his TL.

Hey guys!
OK, here it goes......I was talking with the wife and told her, the car is going to need the timing belt, idler tensioner, water pump, etc and also will need tires in the next 15k miles. I called my honda tech and he said no good on the side work and that I would have to take it somewhere else.....So, I started to think, the car has 215k, what should I do. Put all the work into it and then drive it till the next one needs to be put in at 330k. I loved the car to death!!! I almost cried when I watched it drive away.....I even video taped it leaving...It was a sad day for me.
Well, here is the story......
I have been looking at a new body style GS 350 for about a year. My friends fiance had bought one and always wanted an suv so he gave in....He called me up, we made the deal....So now I have a car with 215,000 miles on it. Yes its modded and yes its clean but not many people are gonna buy a car with this milage no matter what it looked like. I decided on 8k firm and let it go quick and boy I had no idea how fast it would sell. I took the stereo stuff out but I left everything else in. I don't have stock wheels, nore was I messing with konis that had 140,000 miles on it and I wasn't taking my 40 dollar dvd player out and my 35 dollar backup camera out. So I sold it complete. I know to ask more next time.
I'm sorry to end this thread. 215,762 miles is what the car had it when I sold it to Cory. He picked up today and its going to a good home in Martinsville, VA and it will continue to be garage kept. I am up that way for work from time to time so I will pop in to see what he has done to it. He only drives 5-10k a year so I can't see this cr getting much higher in the miles. He has a name on here (just signed up) as corcraft
Congrats Cory and take care of my car like I have for the past three years!!!
OK, here is a picture of my new office! 2007 GS 350 45k miles CPO with every option, Adaptive cruise, parking assist, rear shade and the all important and hard to get 13 speaker Mark Levinson stereo system that is purr bliss to my ears. Gonna bring this one past the 300k mark....Where do you go from here?

Jon congrats on the GS! It's a gorgeous car. I hate to see the TL go but I hope the new owner proudly brings it out to Acura meets like you have in the past

You traitor! I would have done the timing belt for you! (you'd have to drive here though )
Sad.. indeed. I hope the GS treats you well and doesn't accelerate into a wall unexpectedly..
Cory, if you destroy that car we'll hunt you down.
