Well, my '05 TL 6MT AME has made it about 2/3 of the way here. I'm trading one of my Mercedes buddies 3 diesel Mercedes for this '05 TL. I'll post details in my "Hey look at me and my TL" thread when I get my hands on it Friday and get home with it Saturday.
It is in Wichita right now. Came from Ohio. I just started this thread to show what the car looked like when the shipper got it to Kansas. He was caught in snow and salt and all manner of road grime. I had a heart attack when my buddy emailed me the pics!! Holy Crap!!





And I'm off to search about fading of the side view mirrors. My buddy says they look horrible.



Ready to get the car! I've still never driven or ridden in an Acura, much less a TL. And never have owned a front wheel drive car in 32 years of driving. Should be interesting.....

Just wanted to add my buddy had it washed, including undercarriage, and tomorrow is having his Paintless Dent Repair guy come over and clean up a couple of dents. He loves the manual tranny and says it has about the best characteristics on any manual tranny car he's ever driven, and he's driven a bunch.
Did I mention I can't wait.....

Salt brine is a wonderful thing. That car will never see that again I don't imagine once it gets down here. Of course, it will enjoy 105-110 every summer......

My Mercedes buddy, Tyler, lives in Wichita. That was shipping destination, so it was off-loaded and Tyler had it washed within the hour and tucked in his garage!





I guess that is just a shadow because the inside was fine.
It is going to his Paintless Dent Repair guy tomorrow for a dent on top and a small crease on driver's door. The top dent is going to require getting under the headliner!!! I fear headliners!!!!

I will drive my diesel wagon to Wichita Friday evening. We will come back in TL Saturday. He will drive my '95 E300D {I guess it will be "his" by then } back to Kansas after he stops over in Austin. Then the '80 240D will be picked up by that same shipper Monday.


I hope I like this TL because I love my '95 that is going away. Will also miss that 30-33mpg from a 3800lb car!
From my reading on this forum so far, I WILL like the TL.....

Very difficult to learn names here with all the "catchy" forum ID's.
White would have been my first choice. 2nd 3rd and 4th too. But when buying used, you don't always get the color. Made sure I got the 6M/T though.....
I will try and remember the name behind your ID Tyler. Of course if you change your avatar after Christmas I'll be lost again.....

Congrats on the purchase...I just picked up an 04' in the same color with the Aspec kit. It is squirrelly like every else says...Did you get Navigation? Coming from an Integra to the TL has spoiled me with the ELS and heated seats. You'll love it!!

I'm on Acurazine so often that you'll see me post everywhere and you'll start to remember who I am.

I love my WDP because it hides scratches rather well but I don't think I'll buy another white car. It blends in with everything on the road and it's sorta bland. NBP is a awesome color but a bitch to keep clean. I've seen a few fresh after a full detail and the amount of blue pearl in the paint is gorgeous.

Nice. Those marks on the side mirrors are actually from when the previous owner used the heated mirror function and left it on too long. Once the ice is gone, turn it off or it will "burn" the glass.

other then that, good luck. If you need anything OEM let me know, I am a vendor for ACURA parts as well as custom work for cars.

Well, how much are the replacement glass lenses for both the side view mirrors?
I've also got a fog light out. {next to the headlight} Haven't investigated that one yet.
