Motorola V710 for Sprint?
Hey peeps, I was wondering if the Motorola V710 would possibly work with sprint. cuz I know they have the same modes CDMA900/1800, and that the t608 from Sony Ericcson USED to have a crack for it that allowed it to be used w/ verizon. and idea if that same concept can be applied to the V710 to work w/ sprint? I WANT BT sooooooooooooo bad.....but the T608 is a TOTAL step down from my Treo 600 right now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

No, it won't work.
I had a Treo 600. Loved it. Dumped it. Had to have BT. Now I'm using the Sony Ercsson T608. Lame phone, but the BT feature is AWESOME.
I'm waiting paitently for a BT Treo (rumors circulating that a new Treo 610 w/ BT is in the works). If you're willing to leave Sprint, there are also rumors of a Mororola Smartphone, MPX220, that will support BT. Supposed to be available soon on T-Mobile, ATT shortly thereafter. So far, those are the two best PDA/Phone options on the horizon.

cball88,
I too was hung up on staying with Sprint and was going to get the T608 when I thought someone on here mentioned that they basically got it free. Instead I kept doing research and found what appears to be my dream phone - the SonyEricsson Z600. Unfortunately it will not work with Sprint, so I did some research on T-Mobile and from what I've found, they will offer somewhat similar service as sprintPCS. Apparently you can get free WAP browsing with normal voice plans on T-Mobile (check out www.howardforums.com), and from what I understand building peneration is much better with GSM (T-mobile, cingular, ATT) than with CDMA (Sprint, Verizon). Additionally, if you check out reviews of the Z600, everyone remarks that the reception on the phone is awesome. Anyway, the phone is not officially supported or marketed by T-mobile, but I have seen people on this forum and at howardforums.com say they have gotten it working no problem. My hope is that if the T-mobile service or WAP/internet is not as good as sprint, that at least within the next 12-18 months sprint might be looking at converting to GSM, and since the phone will not be bound (locked) to any one provider, I would be able to switch back to sprint at a later point.

I thought that any new CDMA phone will support both Verizon & Sprint (800Mhz and 1900Mhz, respectively). I used a TimePort T7697 (or whatever it was) a couple years back on Sprint then defected to Verizon...
