more exhaust

Put my TL up on the rack again today to inspect the welds after a 2 months of new exhaust...I decided that I was going to build a new cat back system. Im bored and figure it will be a fun afternoon project. I want to see what everyones opinion is on the diameter of the exhaust pipe....I was gonna run either 2.5" to 2.25" after the Y or 2.25" to 2".....odds are i will make both setups and then see which one I am happiest with, but a second, third, etc opinions never hurt.

2.25" keeps the gases hot and flowing. the problem area becomes where the exhaust does another Y split at the rear. at the rear Y i would drop down to 2" exits into the mufflers.
