Moded Mirror Caps (feeler)

i had a extra mirror housing and some extra 3M DiNoc CF Vinyl and decided to cover it, it isn't as neat as i would want it to be , but if i do decide to do it , ill do a better job, should i cover the whole housing or just do half

what do you guys think?

any also its really hard to do, , took me over an hr with a heat gun , the shape of the mirror is really hard to cover with out any bumps , but then i after i was done i realized the part that took the most time to get perfect was the part that would show at all -.-

It's different... but the shade of the Di-Noc throws off the look of it.
If it was more CF-like then I think it's golden.

Looks pretty good and would probably be lots easier on 04-06 mirrors without the signal.

What do you mean about doing only half?

Aside from the fact that it does look pretty good, it is a bit ricey IMHO.

Whole thing, but you should consider doing that one over. The inside seam looks awful. Sorry.

So far so good . I think you should take it outside or try to put it in then take the pic again. The 3M CF look really good to me but I worry that it will have problem with color in direct sun light.

What color are you thinking about making the turn signal lense? I think it'll come out pretty sweet when all those bumps are taken care of. I think half looks good enough but I think it'll be easier to decide after seeing it on the car haha

looks good!

Yeah i guess i like the shine of a clear coat, not a big fan of the matte carbon fiber look.

It looks pretty good on the keyboard, just not sure if it would stick out like a sore thumb on your car.

It looks pretty nice I think. I'm just not sure how it'd clash with the gloss/NBP of your car. If you sprayed a layer of clear (which you can do) over the Di-Noc, you'd probably love the results.

Metrorestyling sells a CF vinyl that is impregnated with clearcoat, product M500 and M600. These are specifically intended for outdoor automotive applications.

My order should be in today or tomorrow, I'll post up how it looks once it's in.

Didn't come today, should be here tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to be working on chair rail moulding instead of the TL tonight.

^I'm anxious to see the CF as well. Looking for a new look in my interior. The matte Di-Noc is cool but I want some gloss I think.

Chair rail molding... I'm applying a coat of wax to my car tonight in my freezing cold garage if it makes you feel better. I need to get it done before snow falls. Bleh.

Dave, I applaud your work-that has to be very difficult on those mirrors. The multi-quote button is in the lower right hand side of each posting. The middle button of the 3 is the one to use.
