the only difference is that you'll be freezing your ass off while installing.

Mods dont wait for winter. Winter waits for the mods.

Do you have a garage to work in? Where do you live?

I wouldn't do it outside in Minnesota, for instance.

You don't say where you are from but if you are worried about the bad conditions with the CAI and J-Pipe, it's not a problem. If the snow is really deep, I would just make sure it's not packed around the air filter.

I want to mod in the winter but working in an unheated garage when it's freezing outside isn't happening. Working on correcting that though!

If you drive the car in the winter, then decided if you wanna mod it at all. Modding it in summer and driving it in the winter with those same mods is the same as modding it now.

not at all. If you can get one from black market for cheap go for it but spending 300$ for sound isn't worth it. Get the j-pipe first, then if you have cash think about intake.

All I did was the resonator removal, V3 J pipe and stage 2 exhaust. I'm perfectly happy and there's no need for any other engine/exhaust mods for me.

If you guys read member Road rage's post way back in the day(you can read some of his postings in the garage) he says that the resonator is useful. it creates turbulence in the air to create low and mid end power.
I have not removed mine and not planning too, as I think Acura/Honda engineered a pretty efficient cold air system.

Good point for a canuck! ...but NJ won't see another winter like this one for a long time! I am waiting for spring, for multiple mods. At least it will stay nice until next hopefully warmer winter.

otherwise...I wish I never got the v2. It's got a dumb ass whistle and my fog light now has a clearance issue. (I did move the ground wire)

I don't understand the resonator removal, it's a big pain in the ass for no reason. If you are trying to get more noise, get an intake.

Don't waste your money on a CAI, do the resonator removal.

well, at least there's not a bunch of conflicting ideas in this thread.

speed-demon, what slooo97cl was saying is that he wishes he never got the v2 bc it's just a noisemaker, no noticeable performance gains (waste of $)...which has been said time and time again. he also said that the resonator removal is a pain in the ass to do (which i don't know, i've never done it.)

my advice, DO NOT buy a v2 brand new for $300. that is beyond ridiculous. if you happen to find one used for a GOOD price, and you really want it, then who cares what we think? go buy it.

i've always been against CAI's and felt they didn't do much. but i just bought a aem v2 used for a GOOD price. (key word, is GOOD)...you won't catch me paying hundreds of dollars for one.

i'm in the mentality that, if there is something i can add to my car, i'm going to do it. i like tinkering with things here and there and it gives me something to look forward to.

in the end, do what you want to do. don't let us deter your fun in anyway. if you have to have a v2 intake, then go get it.

^how so?

i got the v2 mainly for sound/weight savings. i know it does not add a lot of power. but i also got a great deal on one, otherwise...like i said, there is no way i'm spending $300 on a new one.

you will still have to pay tax and duties on top of that you know that right? Another 70$ at least. I think I paid 110$ for my body kit.
