Mmm Bye Bye!

I finally gave up and traded the 05' TL 5AT Non Navi

Problems that haunted me in 16 months of ownership:

-Stock Bridgestone Turanza tires wasted at 15K miles (started performing poorly at 9K miles)

-Transmission/driveline vibration, drone & humming noise since 10K miles

-Multiple rattles, squeaks & creaks (L/F window fully closed, l/f heater vent sounded like pebble rolling in it, center radio vent rattle, gearshift plate bubble wrap noise and seatbelt retractor creaks)

-Steering wheel off center at delivery. Dealer aligned front-end and set wheel off center to the other side

-faded dash

-Non existent AM radio reception

-declining fuel economy after break-in?

-Poor windshield wipers

-HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP & CORPORATE LEVEL
-COCKY & ARROGANT DISTRIC SERVICE REP

Worst car (domestic or import I've owned in 20 years. Shame on Acura for deceiving customers with good form (looks, styling) and horrible function (build quality, integrity, and noise/ vibration/ harshness)

All potential TL purchasers BEWARE!

For all you dissatisfied TL owners, get out now while your value is decent. I just got $27,000 for my trade (18K miles)

Good luck!!!

No, I bought a Chevy Malibu love child. Acura has some crust passing off this sardine can as a luxo sports car. There are $12,000 cars out there that are more refined than this heap.

Sucks that you had all those problems that you werent able to fix. You can borrow mine to see how nice of a car the TL is if you want.

you go get them in that new chevy malibu(dont let that retro/dated inside with that powerful motor get away from you) you know if you had trouble that is your issue and maybe you did get a bad one but when you produce so much of anything there are going to be problems here and ther, but dont for any reason knock acuras, b/c i can assure you know matter where you look acuras are going to be alot more realiable and better than a chevy any day of the week

read my reply professor, I bought a 2006 Maxima. The Chevy lovechild was a joke meaning the TL is the lovechild. It is as refined as a 1998 Malibu 4 cyl. with 150K miles on it

I'm happy for you and all those who had competent & motivated assembly workers constructing your cars. Continued success!

That really sucks man, i totally understand what your gripes are about Acura Dealerships, and Corporate level. Im only 21 yrs old, and i drive a TL, and my dealership wont even look at me ask me if im being helped or anything. They think im a "kid" so they dont even bother with me. I have to bring my father with me to be treated like a normal customer. Sorry to hear bout your TL, good luck with the Nissan

Thank you so much for your objective support. If you have trouble with the dealership $20 to the service mgr. might jump you up a few notches on the pecking list.

What kind of advice is this to give? Instead of the guy speaking up and making his voice heard, he should start paying for people to pay attention to him.

money talks (sometimes) bul*sh*it walks. These dealerships have no motivation. My friends have Lexus' & Infiniti's and they say they're treated like gold

I understand your frustration. Sometimes its hard for us who are fortunate enough to have not experience these problems to relate. My Acura has been a dream but I have had other vehicles that frustrated me due to nagging issues.

Enjoy the Nissan....nice car.

sorry to hear you traded the TL. Hopefully the Maxima won't produce that many problems as you did with the TL. Now you can really hang out with the middle class MOMs.. you know, Maxima drivers, you fit right in.

best of luck

Kinda my impression as well.

And to the OP, good luck with Nissan. At least based on my experience with my 2002 Maxima, you will need it. But everyone has different experiences with dealers and the manufacturers.

And the Maxima is (despite the horrendous service I experienced) a fun car. Hope you at least got the 6 speed.

Nissan Maximas are good cars. They were excellent in the mid 90s and I expect them to be just as good now if not better. It's just not something I would buy, but he made a good choice. Everyone has different taste, let him be.

Going back through all of your posts all you have done is cry foul about this car. You have been nothing but a nuisance on this website. Its n00bs like yourself that ruin the experience for the rest of us who actually enjoy our car. You didn't take the hint when you were warned by a mega-mod, and I'm assuming you'll keep this going as long as you can. For one, you are 45 years old and a mortgage broker. I would be taking a guess you are an educated man, but apparently you are an imbecile, with a lack of any intelligence.

I say good riddance to you!

I am sorry that you had such a problem with your car, and hope you enjoy your Maxima more.

Everyone has had their say and more commentary is unnecessary, so I am closing the thread.
