Mileage Journal
If there is lots of stop and go, hard acceleration or high RPM you won't get close the advertised MPG numbers. On the other hand if you driving consists of consistent low RPM speed you will do better then the advertised number. This car varies widely in it's range depending on how it's driven. You have the added fuel sucker of break-in. It will get much better with every tank in the first few thousand miles and level off someplace between 5,000 to 10,000 miles.
Good luck with your new car!

By the way, my mileage is about the same for same speed range. Try to avoid going below 20 mph average- that's when you start getting 19-21 mpg!
I don't have all that much control over the traffic. I think I get the best mileage when I'm driving around 65 mph. But again, it won't mean much anymore once I open it up.
You don't think 600 miles is too early?

I think that's what I'm gonna get for the type of driving I do from now on. It's very acceptable.
BTW, I had a stretch of going at average of 49+ MPH. It stayed at 31-32 MPG during that stretch.
I still think 65 MPH yields the best mileage on this car.
