MID Icon (A1 Service)

I have an 04 TL. I just hit 5,000 miles and my MID indicates I need an A1 Service.

On my other MID screens I see this little box that looks like an envelope with a number one next to it.

I have been through the manual and these boards looking for some reference to it.

I assume it is just some sort of constant reminder icon.

Anyone know for sure and if it is documented anyplace?

I change my own oil and usually do so before that A1 service appears. But when I go to reset it, actually this weekend in fact, I saw an envelope icon as well. It went away when I finished resetting MID.

The envelope does, in fact, refer to a service message. Resetting the MID will clear the message.

To reset (after you perform your maintenance, of course) hold the top MID button for about 20 seconds until the confirmation comes up, then press it once more to reset.

Remember to hold the button for at least ten seconds when you press it after the confirmation comes up.

I won’t reprint it here, but you can click here for more information on this.
