Meguiars NXT Tech Wax Pictures

I just finished using Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax and pictures are in my gallery.
Started at local car wash. Used clay bar with Meguiar's Detail Spray, then one coat NXT. 2 hours start to finish.

Wow, so that's what it'll look like when I do my Anthracite! Can you take some shots from further away so we can see the shine on the entire car?

Did you use Dawn to strip the factory wax?

Apparantly gallery links are not working right now - I'll check back later. I am very interested in Mequiar's NXT.

How easy was it to apply? How many coats did you use (I assume you used the Tech Wax)? Have you tried the Spray Wax? or the Tech Protectant?

I will try when I have time.

Did you use Dawn to strip the factory wax?
No, I had it washed at the local car wash.

How easy was it to apply?
Very easy. Wiped off effortlessly with no dust.

How many coats did you use (I assume you used the Tech Wax)?
I used one coat. Yes I used Tech Wax. I thought that's what my original post stated.

Have you tried the Spray Wax? or the Tech Protectant?
No.

... has anyone tried the new Hot Shine Tire Spray?
This is off topic and I would appreciate if you would start a new thread if you want to know about this.

THe NXT product works real well. Last weekend I did my wife's 04 Maxima (which is black). This car has not been waxed since we purchased it back in June '03. After a good wash, I was able to wax and remove the NXT product within 35 minutes or so. I have to say that I've never seen black look so good. It was like looking @ a black mirror.

The NXT product is the best 15 bucks you'll spend on a wax product.

I washed my Anthracite TL and then applied two coats of NXT wax to it. I couldn't tell if it was really as good as others have claimed -- but I think the Anthracite color is a tough one to show off.

How much wax are you guys putting on the car, and how many coats?

I have a silver TL and although it looks good when clean, as I stated above this product will do wonders for a darker colored car.

I still need to to my 02 F-150 with NXT as I've not waxed it since I purchased it in July of '02. I'll take pictures of that for sure since its black and showing minor wear. If it turns out like my wife's car I'll be amazed.

The wife has me doing house chores so I've not been able to break away to do it, of course I can find time to wash my new baby.

I just put one coat of the NXT on. Do you think that you see a further benefit from the additional coat(s)?

greenseed:

Honestly, the additional coats will probably not do much difference. I only did it to ensure that the wax was getting all over the car to protect it.

I'm assuming that after you wax the car you no longer have to wax it again for a while even if you put it through a car wash, daily rains, etc?

I tried 2 coats of NXT. Just a little improvement over the 1st coat. I tried the tech protectant on my old 92 accord. Very nice. If you do not like the shine, you can wipe it down with a dry cotton cloth to buff out the shine. You will have a darker deeper color dash. I still have to use the NXT car wash. I did not buy the spray wax.

I have a silver TL, I expect a more dramatic effect on darker colors especially on black.

Is NXT available in local stores yet? Or online only at this time?

I found the NXT wash in Walmart in Martinez, CA. I got the wax directly from Meguires. Call them and ask them to waive the shipping charge. They will happily do it since they know it is not widely avail yet.

How much wax are you actually applying to the car? When you pour it on your towel/foam applicator how much are you putting on per area?

For example, the top of the trunk area -- how much wax would you put on there?

Lore,
The directions say apply the wax evenly throughout. You put a small amount wax on the applicator and apply it. When it starts to look like its getting thin, you put more wax on the applicator. I don't understand how much more simple it could be.
