MD/DC/VA Dealerships
Well, I'm ready to make the plunge and purchase a 2004 TL. I'm looking for a straight-talking, no BS dealership! Those of you in the MD/DC/VA area, can you enlighten me about your experiences. Where did you purchase your vehicle? Were you happy with your treatment? Would you recommend them to your best friends? Thanks in advance.

Radley Acura. No BS, got a good deal on my TL. I'd go there again if I still lived in the area.

It really depends on the Salesperson you get. I bought cars from both Radley and Pohanka.
Pohanka was my most current purchase...wasn't too impressed.
Radley was much better IMO. Level of service, free oil change for life, loaner for life and little extras. The fact that their service station closes at 2 or 3 am doesn't hurt.

Pohanka Acura without a doubt. They're the largest Acura dealer in the world. I can highly recommend Alex Kresin (I'll give you his email if you'd like); tell him Ryan Carter referred you. He's a straight forward guy, no BS. Car was quick and easy to buy, this is our second Acura we've purchased from him.

Just bought mine from Frankel Acura in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
Ask for Theresa Cook - TL was the 2nd car I have bought from her. Pleasure to deal with - no nonsense and stands behind the sale.
Any more questions, let me know.

I bought my 3.2CL-S back in 2001 at Rosenthal Acura and had an excellent experience with them both sales and service side. I'm friends with several A-CL and A-TL guys in real life.
Never heard a bad thing about Rosenthal.

I bought my 03TL at Rosenthal and they treated me well. They gave me a great price without any suprises (except $95 processing charge) it seems all dealers are doing that now. They gave me all the accessories at cost except wheel locks they gave me them for free.
They are a volume dealership and I feel that they will have the ability to give the best deal --- but you may have to work them to get it. From the threads that I have read, the best deal in USA is $1,500 off sticker. If they have unsold inventory, I would walk out unless they would give you that. My prediction is that with the sticker of the 04 that sales will fall by spring and by June you will be able to buy your choice for$500 over invoice.
In addition, Acura mistakenly is thinking that everyone is willing to fork over 2K for Navi, and their gearing up for a much higher ration of Navi's. The reality is that many of the well-to-do purchacers in the initial buy will spew to ratios, and navi ratios will fall off to less than 20%. By June Navi units will be adorn with bigger discounts. IMHO! But what do I know

What you say may very well be true regarding navis ending up around 20% of the TLs sold by June. We'll have to wait and see and if that does happen that is definitely good news for the buyer since there will be plenty of navi models available around that time.
One thing to keep in mind though is that the navi is now much more integrated with the other systems in the car and more powerful than the one found in the previous model TL where it was simply just a $2000 option for navigation and in some ways neutered the climate control ease-of-use. Now you're basically getting the entire car built from the ground up for the navi and the non-navi model is there for price-conscious buyers who are looking for a way to buy a TL for a lower price more so than people who would have passed on one previously because "heck, I only drive around town I don't need to find my way."
As far as pricing I'm surprised to hear $1500 off a new TL (I'd assume that's a non-navi model but even then that sounds like a lot). I guess it also depends on the area of the country the buyer lives in. If you're in the DC metro area, easily one of Acura's biggest markets, you won't see the same discount you might at Backwoods Acura in Tennessee (fictitious name) if there's little or no market and the dealership needs to move units. At least that's my guess.

I bought my 03 MDX at Tischer Acura with $1500 off MSRP while all the other Acura dealers in Maryland would not even give me a dime off. My best advice is to shop around. I shopped hard for my MDX. Can't wait till I get that TL!

How does it cut out the sales person? It's not like the manager delivers the car to you - he will just give you the pricing he would have given to the salesman to give to you, and whichever salesman he assigns to you to deliver the car will still be your salesperson for follow-up etc.

That way the manager can spend more time with you.

I always get mine from Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge. Very good personal service and no BS. My TL was my 9th Acura from them. I always deal with Bobby Potter, he's very cool and goes the extra mile all the time to make sure your happy.

Yes, but sales people are paid on commision while managers get a chunk of the entire dealerships sales.
