I have a manual 2006 TL. I love the car but HATE the shifter knob. I guess it would be o.k. if it was wrapped in leather, not that cheesy vinyl...
Are there any other shifter OEM knobs to replace this? How hard is it to replace this part?

 

Just unscrews, pretty easy once you break it free. I'm sure there are replacements but I haven't looked into any of them.

 

Yup, This is one of those easy mods. I would say look for something you can really grab. For me it a "T" type. I have had one in my car's for years. You can really grab the"T" , for me it cuts down on missed shifts. The ball can just slip threw your fingers, but not when you have a "T" shaped shifter.

 

I have a new Skunk2 that I decided not to use since I like the factory one better. It's an awesome shift knob, PM me if you're interested.

 

i just installed the 07' tl-s knob. it looks great. leather with carbon fiber down the middle. looks good with carbon fiber front trim.

sorry automatic. is there a difference in the shift for 07' tl-s, auto and manuel? the auto has carbon fiber. looks good. $72.

 

Please let me know if you find a nice one for the manual, i have the same ugly 6 spd knob that you do, all i can find are AT ones, no MT ones
