Made an oops...

During my trans filter replacement, I noticed this when pulling off my intake hose....not sure if I did it right here, or if it's been like that. The crack goes all the way through and I'm obviously worried about debris getting inside, considering it's downstream of the air filter. Will electrical tape suffice as a temporary fix?

Thanks for any advice. Bonus pic of why it's good to replace your trans filter.

probably cracked long before you touched it, old ones get hard and rigid and less flexible and tear

Thanks guys. I feel a totally useless cold air intake suggestion thread coming on! But seriously, I'll find a replacement stock one.

I used high temperature silicone when mine had crack open. Temp fix but go the job done until I replace it.

I suggest you buy a real cold air intake

Easier/cheaper to build your own with custom piping.

Coincidentally, I broke 2 of the 4 screws re-attaching the upper air box to the lower air box - the heads of the fasteners broke off, and it would be difficult to drill out the rest of the bolts..... So now I may very well be in the market for an entirely new intake. It's amazing how I can perform some decently intricate repairs with no major issues, whereas simply removing my airbox I end up breaking stuff....
