Made the leap!

Well, last night I purchased my '04 Anthricite TL with Quartz interior. It's a novice machine to many of you (i.e. A/T with no NAV) but that's what I need/want. Making it on the 16th of this month so I won't see it for a few weeks but at least I know my vin will be in the 40k-50k range so maybe some of these little annoying things will be worked out.

Congrats fishacura, but with all the dealers swimming in A/T non-nav inventory, I find it hard to believe you actually have to wait several weeks. Has your dealer checked to see if they could get one right away from another dealer?

Not in the color/interior I wanted. Athracite is in very low stock....and there is a ton of in-stock tan interior but not much else.....I also wanted to ensure I had a very high VIN.....and told them not to get one from another dealer with a VIN below 33,000 (so bugs can be worked out to the extent that Acura knows about them)

congrats. I stipulated the same thing when I purchased my NBP/Parchment 6MT non-nav last week--no VIN below 31K.

Have a blast. Driving is my new favorite hobby!

My wife's from Phoenixville and her folks still live there! Who's your dealer? BTW, congrats on your purchase, you'll love it.

Tristero:

Any day now! My confirmed VIN is over 40,000. I, too, hope they have dealth with most of the issues the early models had. Just in case, I have emailed the dealer and brought them all to his attention to let him know I am informed as to those issues.

I also told them NOT to polish my car. I will do that myself. They can wash it gently with a clean hand mitt, and, if they determine it has rail dust, they can clay bar it. But I will do the paint sealant and polish.
