Last time I checked, a 1/4 mile run never starts from a roll

Go to the strip and get some slips. Street racing means absolutely nothing. Most people are clueless to drag racing. I think the drag strip is going to be a heart breaker for you. I'm predicting 14.6s@97mph with a 2.3 60'.

On .net there is a guy down in northern Virginia who is stroking both the J30 and J32. He strokes the 3.2 to a 3.5. Check it out. The one in his car is a 3.5.

when will people understand that results from street racing and drag racing are the same? Meaning if one means nothing, then the other on means nothing too. Someone could've messed up the launched on the street, but in drag racing sometimes a 13s car can be a 14s car (like the nismo 350z).....and time slips..damn, my little 5 yr old cousin could come up with on easily with photoshop....time slips mean absolutely nothing to me.

racing to me is just who is the better driver with the better car on any given day...unless the car jus shits on the other from a HP/TQ aspect i.e any of our cars vs a lambo

BTW, the current generation 328 has been tested by C&D to do 14.7s@94mph. The 328 is not a 2.8 liter motor. It's a slight detuned verison of the old 3.0 inline six found in last years 330. 14.7s is more than enough for most any stock auto TL on this site and even some modded ones. Add a header, intake, and ECU flash to the 328 and you're probably looking at 14.3-14.4s@97mph.

Sure, you could manipulate a timeslip, but most people aren't that low to something like that and usually the ones that do falsify a slip do a really bad job at it and it's obvious because the ET/MPHs don't make sense or the car is jsut way too fast for it's mods, 60 foot is way off, etc.

Timeslips are very important on the net, street, and strip. It's credibility. I know I'm not the only one that finds it very annoying when people claim they "should" run such and such a time because of the cars they beat on the street, especially when the said races are from a roll. For those that have been to the track, you'll know just how hard it really is and how often your car isn't remotely as quick as you initially thought and/or just how bad of a driver you are.

From what I've read in C&D, new 328i did 14.8s, which is exactly the same as what 2nd gen TL-S (AT only) got. The issue i read was probably different than the one you read, anyways, 0.1s difference doesn't mean much and I am sure you know why.

Exactly, making fake time slips is cheap but we can't really assure no one does it. Videos + time slips to me mean more.

I guess most people also understand that your driving skills are just as important, if not more, than the performance of your car.

I find it hard to believe a Type-S is THAT much faster than you.
I think the 3G TypeS 6M/T Runs High 13sec. so i think its easy to put up to 3 car lengths on a 14.2 sec

That's about .3 seconds and 2mph faster anyone else on G35driver.com and about .5 seconds and 3mph faster than a well driven 6MT. In the video, you can hear just how well that track is prep. When he launches, it sounds like a sheet ripping. It's awesome.

BTW, this stock 13.8 G, just like this 13.7 TL, is legendary and ALWAYS seems to be the one people will spotlight well trying to prove to others that this is what a well-driven X-car will do.

Both these car's performance is SO far beyond the norm that they should be considered anomalies and not the standard.
