Looking for a TL....Help
Hey guys I recently sold my legacy gt and I'm looking to buy a tl privately. I know its very hard to find but I was looking for a White tl year 04-07 black leather, navigation and 6 speed manual. Anyone know how many were made because I'm finding out that its near impossible to find. (please excuse me this may be the wrong section to post this topic)
TL white with black leather I don't think that combo is even possible on the base i know that it does exist on the Type S model. Navi and MT combo is also rare unless you want to buy an 07-08 TL-S with WDP and ebony/taupe interior.
When I bought my '04 TL 6MT new in Nov '03, I remember reading that the 6MT was going to be limited to 5% of production (at least for 2004, don't know about the other years). Now throw in different color combos and navi vs non-navi and you have a fairly tough challenge ahead...
^ yeah I know it did come in white with black interior I've found a few (high Mileage) and no navi or manual trans. But I never knew it was limited to 5% but I figured there were a limited number produced. I would really like a TL with nav, manual trans and black leather. As far as the exterior color, I would pretty much go for any except Black, Navy Blue and that gold color.

You said you wanted a 6 speed so 2007-2008 models are out of the question because all 2007-2008 base models were only made in 5AT.
The only 2007-2008 that were optional with a 6 speed manual transmission was the Type-S models (Available in 5AT or 6SPD)
So that means you'll have to look for a 2004-2006, 6SPD, WDP, Ebony interior, Navigation, Less than 75,000 miles.....
To be honest man, I don't think you are going to have much luck. Finding a 2004-2006 with less than 75,000 miles is already a tough challenge as it is. That means the previous owner(s) would have driven the car for 10,000-12,500 miles a year (depending on the year of the TL)
Now add in WDP + Ebony interior makes it even that much harder.
Than add in factory navi + 6spd manual transmission.... I would say your chances of finding one locally is slim to none. It's possible to find one, but you might have to search and search for several months unless you are really fortunate and find one soon.
If you really want that combination that bad, than my advice to you is just to constantly stay in the market for the next 6 months and maybe you'll have some luck.
If not, you're best bet is to drop the color combination you want or the mileage. Most 2004-2006 are well near 100k or slightly over.

6MT in general are rare. less than 2000 (this is an approx. based on the 1 in 40 were 6MT- see wikipedia stats on the acura TL and the actual total production numbers) were made for each model yr from 04-06. type-s 6MT are a little more rare. add in the low mileage part and a certain color combo and navi...you better be willing to travel to find this car. finding it locally may not turn up anything unless you get really lucky and find one that hasn't been beat on.
search the black market section for members selling their cars...you might be able to find one there and know that the car has been taken car of-you hope-since we're all enthusiasts here.
good luck in your search, but i feel you may have to widen your color combos in order to find what you are looking for. i mean i have nice super low mileage 6MT...with navi, but wrong color combo...she's immaculate BTW, but you can't have her.
Because the manual ones drive much better. Not saying that all automatic trannies are bad. Those on IS-F are pretty good. However, TL's auto trannies are not programmed for spirited driving.
For example, if you shift from 2nd to 3rd gear with your foot on throttle right after the ECU shifts from 1st to 2nd, ECU will not shift to 3rd as it assumes you want to shift to 2nd. This leads to unexpected acceleration.

To the OP, if you really want a lower mileage 6 speed WDP car, you might have to get one with a parchment interior, or otherwise select a different exterior color.

Not exactly what you wanted op but chipping in lol.

But you're right, AT transmissions in the TL isn't meant for speed like a DCT transmission
In my opinion, in order to get what you want, your going to have to be willing to Fly to where the car you want is and drive it home. Make it a vacation. Thats what I intent to do. I have had a manual 06 WDP TL NAV that I bought Certified at a local Acura dealer. That was a miracle. But it had the tan leather with the ugly woodgrain trim
This time I will not settle for anything else then an 07-08 WDP Type-S with ebony/silver leather, and I am getting an auto. That alone will be hard to find.
Not trying to take away your peace, but I think YOU WILL HAVE TO TRAVEL QUITE FAR FOR WHAT YOU WANT
