Looking for suggestions, passenger seat

Ok forum members I am looking for suggestions on how to easily make the passenger seat adjust for height. My wife is not overly tall and would like the seat adjustible. I have seen some cars with a dial or knob that you turn, and it changes seat height. A mechanical fix would be easiest for me, but if it has to be electrical I would go for it as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I was hoping someone out there has done all the homework on this type project for me already. And no, finding a taller wife is not an option. Any help would be great.

Disclaimers: I am NOT qualified to talk about the safety of this solution... BUT...

You live in Bremerton, odds are good you know SOMEONE handy with metalworking. Maybe get someone to make you some "booster" rails / brackets / whatever for the seat. The seat is currently bolted down to the "floor"; if you put something between the floor and the seat that would firmly and safely boost the seat up; then reattach the seat through that booster thing.

__|______|___

That seems the simplest solution to me; trying to detach the seat from the base seems far more complicated to me. Again, I dont know how safe this is though. You'll get plenty of people telling you how this wasn't the way the car was designed. Good point. Airbags.... another good point (though, honestly if she's short enough the airbag could be a bad thing anyway and this could help.)

(Oh well, I tried to make a drawing to show you, but the forum removes any kind of space)

yea just spacers and longer bolts would work. I was going to look into the mechanism that non electric seat cars have.
