I am gonna bite the bullet and trade my 03 Type S for a 4th Gen. I am going back and forth between a WDP 05 ($19k) and WDP 07 ($25.5k) (non-Type S). Both are in outstanding condition. Both have NAVI. The mileages are low for the year, the interiors are impeccable both are mostly stock.
Is the 07 really worth the extra $6.5k. I may do some minor mods, rims, ipod, maybe ASpec. The gauge cluster and the newer fit and finish in the 07 are sweet but I dont know if its worth it...any input would be appreciated thanks

only huge difference i see is the different a-spec lip, front grill, fog light relocation, side mirrors, rims, and tail lights. not worth it IMO... if you're going to pay 6.5k for the 07, might as well buy a type-s.
Suzuka Master
TPMS began in 2006, so if you're updating to aftermarket wheels, the TPMS sensors need to be addressed.
Here's some info I copied:
2007 saw a few more changes, new steering wheel, redesigned gauges, and footwall lighting, suspension changes to improve ride comfort, LED turn signal repeaters on the side mirrors and fog lamps in the bumper. Prior to 2007, the fog lamps were integrated into the headlight housing; Daytime Running Lights now occupy that space (Canadian models have had DRLs there rather than fog lamps since 2004). TL with navigation models sport a new rear view camera with image displayed on the navigation screen as well as XM NavTraffic. In addition to the new standard auxiliary audio jack, the sound system is now MP3/WMA compatible and offers Dolby Pro Logic II decoding and speed-sensitive volume compensation.
Your choice, but as the drive train virtually identical, I'd buy the 2005 and update to what you might want to add/change.

I would go for the 05 if you are getting rims and other mods. You can do a lot with 6.5k and for the price of that 07, you might as well get a type-s.

its probably a typo, 3 and 4 are next to each other, duh!
What is your budget for the car? Each car has it's good qualities and negatives:
1. 05:
Cheaper
Cheaper to insure
Cons: More wear and tear, no warranty
2. 07 Base
Has updated navi system
Reads MP3's and WMA disks
Has softer ride
Less rattles
Same mod's as 05
TPMS
lower fogs
DRL's
Less wear
Warranty
Cons
1. Fake looking trim
2. Softer ride
If your budget was 21K OTD, then go with the 05. If you can afford the Base TL easily, then either get that or the TL-S. the TL-S is very much so worth it.

I would love to get the 07 Type S but I cant find one for less than $27k here in philly. I am leaning towards the 05 and modding it out but that 07 Type S looks oh so sweet....
