Looking at buying a used TL-S 6MT
here are specs:
2008
approx 87000 miles
priced at $10,500 USD - open to 'offers'
timing belt/water pump stuff replaced at approx 73000 miles. no accidents/clean title.
I was going to offer $9000 USD. good deal?
Now, here's the thing - aside from a shit ton of superficial scratches (nothing deep and no paint chips) - there's some damage to this side view mirror.
my question is - if i removed the glass and actuator, do you think there's room in there for me to push the 'indented piece' outwards from the inside so its at least flush with the housing? once its flush i'll maybe dip/wrap the sideview mirror housings.

year of the car would help
and looks like your in Vancouver like me, 9000usd is about 12k CAD
and 87000 miles is 140000km
for reference when I bought my type-s 6mt with 150000ish km, I paid 12,500
mine was one-owner, non smoker, stock and mint.
dont forget youd pay import tax when bringing it back across as well.
post some pictures and we can chime in more

2008 model
his asking price in CDN is: $13995 / 136,000KM - and is open to 'offers'. condition is FAR from mint but reality is..it's a 11-12yr old car. ***oops, did some bad math on my CAD TO USD conversion***
I mean, a TL-S pops up every month but there's been so many rebuilds - and poorly modded... i'm just after stock with a 6MT / open to AUTO as well but i've already got 2 cars that have an AUTO.
as well - i owned a 2008 TL-S 6MT between 2012-2015 so am quite familiar with the car and what issues to look for. a preliminary check today confirmed all electronics are good, engine sounds good, lighting all good, a/c all good

Since theres no pics that sounds like a fair offer esp if one of the more in demand colors. If hes open to offers what can it hurt?
On the indented piece you mean the plastic housing is cracked? Your idea sounds feasible or it could go horribly wrong by pushing back it will release the piece, pics would help.

mirror is not a big deal, my passenger mirror is scuffed way worse than that lol.
I would still use it as a bargaining tactic though.
car looks to be stock, no tint etc.
my only question is why timing belt job was done at low kms, I would inquire about that....
only thing on exterior besides the mirror is the large amount of brake dust on the front wheels
could be an indication that the car has been driven roughly or it could just be a cheap set of brake pads that give off a shit ton of dust.

low mileage (87K) increases the price. Best thing to do is have a mechanic look it over and see if it needs lower control arm bushings, ball joints, new shocks, trans fluid change, etc. ONE BIG ITEM!!!! Does it have a cracked dash? If it does, it's not a "clean" car and would go into the average category... Values below are in USD:

I ran it through the following list as a preliminary checklist: (everything was good for the most part)
Air conditioning / HVAC - working, a/c blowing cold.
Lights internal/external - all working
Heated seats - works fine, switches light up when ON
Wipers - works fine
Windows roll up/down/auto - works fine
Stereo – CD readable? - not tested
2 keys - yes
Hood struts lift properly - works fine
Sunroof open/close/tilt - working
Underbody leaks - was not checked
Any CEL or dash lights - no CEL displayed
Power steering noise - did not test
Horn - working
Matching VINS on all panels
Windshield chips/cracks - no chips/cracks
Wheel curbage - 1 wheel has curbage
Car idle feel - engine at idle was smooth, no chirping noises
overall paint condition - superficial scratches. minimal dings.
dashboard cracks - none
bluetooth module connection test - not tested

seems like a pretty clean car, I wouldn't haggle to much and try to get it home ASAP!

take the $$$, go to car, trade $$$ for car and enjoy! There no doubting it's a clean car, and a difference in a few bucks to lose the car isn't worth it! Spend the 13-14K CAD and take it home

This isn't 3g facebook group! KBP is treating me great since the APP sensor was installed. All throttle issues resolved. Need to change the tranny juice, but other than that she's smooth as silk. Truck life is good, minus the gas mileage. Hunting is starting up soon and I am 2 months away from storage for KBP again. Only have 1400 miles on it this year so far...

yup LOVE IT.... looks great on the rear vents.. another bonus, TL S equipped with NOKIAN WRG3 all weathers... in our west coast climate, no need for winter tires at all. ...if its a bad snowfall, the RDX is ready for action. this deal was total win win

Yup, Bow opens on Sept. 14th. After driving the Truck all winter, come May 1st, I feel like my ass is scrapping the ground when I drive the TL again after being in the truck for 6 months straight. Takes some getting used to but its not too bad. It will be worse once I get the leveling kit on the truck or even if I decided a 2in lift is necessary for larger 35" tires.

Its a definitely a nice pick-up op.
for reference I picked up my 07 6mt in December 2017 for the same amount you paid as well, but I think my car had slightly higher mileage
hopefully you keep her for many more years to come
